Game ignoring wheel input for several seconds?

Recommended Posts

Anyone else noticed this bug?  Happens 100% on first lap at least once.  Put all components to stock so no one can blame any unstable overclock (not that I'd expect it to be a factor!) Wheel is 100% working in every other game I try and in logitech profiler.
I've searched about and I've noticed people report lag for their wheel control but I've not found anyone else with this problem.  Surely can't just be me?  Codemasters are acknowledging all kinds of bugs on XB1 & PS4 but have completely ignored my comment on this bug.

Here's another one (uploading/processing just now though)

Yep, same for me, when I start hotlap from the road but not from the pits. Sometimes it happens after replay also.

Ah glad it's not just me then - does it settle down after the first couple of laps then or does it happen constantly for you - I don't wanna exceed the 2hr limit for the refund if it's a recurring issue.

Yeah I've had this issue on PS4 with the T300 wheel disconnected for a few seconds and then sorting itself out again. I tweeted @LiteralZero about it on twitter and he said the team are aware of the problem.

I think it is something to do with the game momentarily getting confused between the input devices, so it disconnects the wheel maybe thinking you're using a controller then re-connects the wheel a few seconds later.

I had the issue twice going down the hangar straight in my first race on the game and quite a few times in TT when being given control of the car coming out of stowe. I've also had it out of the pits when given control which sent me into the barrier lol at Silverstone and again out of the pits in Australia.

It doesn't seem to happen when you don't touch the steering wheel before getting control of the car, since doing that I haven't had the wheel disconnect.

Yup have the  same here, glad it's been noticed.

Have you checked the steering deadzone is low?
Steering deadzone is 0, it's an intermittent fault and it's not just steering both steering and brake/throttle inputs are affected simultaneously.  If you're braking and it happens you'll keep braking and if you stop and have auto gears you'll start reversing.

That fix doesn't work for me - didn't touch wheel/pedals/anything before got control - still happened within a few corners of gaining control.

I have the same problem on PC with a G25 wheel. Almost always happens first lap.  Also, it seems to often kick in if I use the voice commands menu.  This is my biggest problem with the game.  Other than that I am quite enjoying it...

Yeah i thought that was a workaround but had the wheel disconnect coming out of both pitstops in my China season race, the second time i ended up in the gravel on the outside of turn 1. Pretty frustrating issue to have to be honest and sounds like quite a few different wheels are being affected.
