Game is a blury mess on ( PC

Recommended Posts

Blurry mess describes this game perfectly .
I can only play this thing for 10 min at a time or it kills my eyes and gives me a head ache.
The combination of motion blur and lousy attempt at head shaking really kill this game, and no way to calibrate your pedals !
The look back view looks great .but you get DQ if you drive backwards.
They really need to fix this! I tried to disable motion blur and fov in config file but it doesn't help.
If I turn off TAA it helps a little . but then it looks like a bad lego game . What AA options does it give the guys with amd cards ?

Totally agree with you on this. So disappointed with the visuals of the game on the PC.

It's unplayable.

I have a 980Ti with the latest drivers. It's crazy blurry. I only drove 2 laps and exited the game. Did a benchmark and i have a constant 60FPS with vertical synch on.

Everything on Ultra and i can still clearly see cars disappering in the distance, like i have some low end system with everything on low :(  Besides the blur, that's the second BIG game killer for me.  I drove 2 laps. That's it.

Hope CM will fix it soon, if not i feel like you stole my money for the second time after F1 2014.

What resolution are you playing at? As my mate plays at 1080p and says it blurry, yet at my native res of 1440p it doesn't look blurry at all.

I think guys meant the motionblur that game has enabled at default and you cant even disable it at menu. While sitting still gfx looks fine, but on motion it get all hazy/fussy.

I have 1440p monitor aswell ( Asus PG278Q ) so its not down to resolution

TAA certainly is the biggest issue.
After turning it off I actually turned motion blur and depth of field back on, since they were not the ones responsible for the horrible blur.
Unfortunately without TAA the jaggies take over, but I still prefer it to the blur.

My big worry is that it`s not the TAA itself causing the problem but the underlying graphics.
Did you try completely turning off AA? I`ve never seen such pixelation on any game (some games even look quite clean without AA on 1080p).
AA certainly has to work overtime on F1 2015, maybe that`s why it causes such massive blur. :/

if you run NVidia card, check in nvidia control panel. make these changes, made a huge impact for me.

DSR-factors  set to "OFF"

Texture filtering  set on  "high Quality"

Triple Buffering set to "On"

Try setting vertical sync  to "On" see if it makes any differences.

In the game in video mod settings

Anti Aliasing set to SMAA (setting to SMAA+TAA gives a more blurry and smudgy picture. set it to off and blurry effects will be gone on the down side too much jaggyness.

anisotropic filtering mine is set to 2x(could be set higher depending or your system specs.

avoid TAA unless you like blurriness...

Will give i try today, but what about disappearing cars  :s

It makes the game feel like a very cheap console port.

It is blurry as fuck. ANd yes 1080p is the dewfault resolution for 99% of folks out there. Game needs to work out of the box top notch or flies into bin.

Don't even try triple screen dude. I get maybe 30FPS on my rig. As compared to pCars where I can run 80-100+ FPS maxed on triples with a resolution of 5870x1080. THis game is NOT A PC GAME-ITS THE WORST PORT EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AND; We don't need to do this stuff. It should look MUCH MUCH BETTER than any other version before right out of the box. It does not. CM fails again. DON'T BUY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Found a work around for the blurry graphics guys.

Goto:  Documents\My Games\F1 2015\hardwaresettings folder
Open the hardware_settings_config.xml with notepad find this line
postprocess motionBlur="true"  and change it into  postprocess motionBlur="false"

You should of read the posts. The issues is not apparent when standstill, its the motion blur when car is moving that makes game blurry. Also it seems far less apparent on t-cam, im using cockpit view the "cockpit shake efffect" combined with the motion blur makes it look absolutely horrible.

The graphics were really bad with default setting, worst for me was the trees flickering in the background. I set smaa+taa on and aliasign to x16 and now it is better for eyes. The graphics arent really good considering the power they require, needs more sharpness without using smaa, taa or full aliasign.

That mate being me :p

SLI 980's and the game looked awful. Only way I've found so far of making it a little better and much more bearable is by setting DSR (VSR for AMD guys) at 1440p. Seems to sharpen things up a bit. It's by no means perfect, but it has helped me play without feeling like I've got something stuck in my eyes.

No need. Your SMAA/TAA is clearly not active on either screenie.

Makes no diff. The blurr is caused by the poor AA modes implemented. With MSAA options we would not discuss this.

Its not really down to AA completely, even if you disable it alltogether there is still blurring. TAA seems to make it a lot worse tho.

Yeah I know. It's a console only title by the looks of it as I saw screenies from PS4 and X-Box One and my god what a difference!!!!

Let's rename the studio to: ConsoleMasters and PC Hatred Inc. - LLC

Where the first 'L' of LLC stands for NO liability at all. :dizzy:

It's not AA it's the chromatic aberration. SMAA does not soften the image, TAA I believe does have but this is not the main issue. The chromatic aberration destroys the image quality and is completely unnecessary on PC. Look at the blue outline one the left front in this screenshot. Look at the outline on the sidepod and on the metal frame of the fence behind the 20 in the top left corner.

Please add an option to turn this off!

Does anyone know how to force MSAA on? I tried override application settings in the Catalyst Control Centre but it didn't do anything.

I changed the graphical configuration file, my feeling got better.
Anyone can test, save the original file

Blurry Mess... no matter what I do with the XML, the blurry mess remains. It IS chromatic aberration and this is with DOF = false and Motion Blur = false

Original file can be found here: http://mrpix.org/images/F1_2015_UltraHigh.jpg

It's 4k so you'll need a 4K monitor to see it pixel for pixel.

I have cropped a 1920x1080 section too (the area in the black box on the original to highlight the aberration of red/green and blue shifted... which makes the whole thing blurry. NOTE, both pictures are pixel for pixel as seen on screen.

cropped file: http://mrpix.org/images/F1_2015_UltraHigh_1080.jpg

I can't take any more screenshots as I don't own the game any more, got a refund.
