dbs213
One thing I'd like to see from the RX update is being able to use any class from Rally mode (or Hillclimb cars out of amusement) for RX. I remember DiRT 3 having Group B cars as the other class option for Rallycross, would be nice if they open them all up for DiRT Rally.Thoughts? Nightswipe
I agree. Everything should be open if we want to.Driving a hillclimbcar in Monte Carlo is idiotic. But a fun choice none the less =PBut I believe the update will be RX cars on RX tracks only.
Skroxs
well.. im maybe nuts but I would like to see a race with only mini´s (the old one), if only in custom or league races. ;)
Rallycameraman
I doubt it'll happen, it'll take far far too much work with regards to AI in the other cars.
MiatakiasGR
I would like this feature that was existing in DIRT 2 .. But because DIRT rally is more sim game i think there will be special classes for RX and not all cars..:(
tbtstt
Personally I'm on the fence with regards to all classes going rallycrossing. I would prefer to see "real" rallycross classes added, rather than just allowing rally cars to take to the rallycross tracks. Adding Super 1600's or Touring Car classes as an alternative to Supercars would be great but, even easier (for Codemasters) would be to add in the RX Lites: that's just one car and a number of liveries to model. At around half the power of the Supercars the RX Lites would be a great way to prepare for the Supercars! With regards to the Group B cars - and this is something I have mentioned before - I'd really like to see proper Group B rallycross cars included (with the correct specification and power levels) rather than rally spec Group B cars as in DiRT 3. shadow118
I wish that you could drive all cars on all tracks, atleast in custom events and PVP

dbs213
I'm crossing my fingers for them to make AI for all classes if AI coding is a concern. I was envious that the unrestricted class selections was MP-exclusive in DiRT 2, I wanted to do Raids with rally cars for my own amusement (or mix 'em all up ala MotorStorm, heh)If that's not the case though, I'll wait for an "All Cars on All Tracks" mod like what GRID and DiRT 2 had as what I've read. There is quite a good mix of cars in that class as well. If Codemasters were to do an 80's retro rallycross car pack (and they probably should really ;) ), then having both Division 1 and Division 2 cars would be incredible. As well as the Group B cars in Division 2, there were some amazing rear wheel drive cars in Division 1; big BHP Sierra Cosworths and E30 M3's anyone? KingOfTheCakes
Agree with top post. Or add some extra RX classes down the line like the Grp. B RX in Dirt 3, and maybe a RWD one.Either way, I'm looking forward to the update.

Lets us not forget those early 4WD cars that predated Group B cars like the Gartrac G4 Rallycross Escort Mk3.Or Porsche 4WD 911 Turbos , ( not a chance thanks to EA's control on the Porsche name,)There was even a Holden Commodore that ran in 1989 .Also not forgeting the like of Volvo & Saab .These cars alone could make for some good online racing. But CM should make cars from all the Era's 60's 70's ,80's 90's Current. Yes! I would love to see more eras of rallycross cars represented, but the late 80's and early 90's were such a peak for the sport that would seem the best choice for a retro rallycross car pack. As @couger1981 points out though, representing all the eras would detract from further rally developments, but the late 80's/early 90's cars could be added without too much hassle (I think: I await correction on that!)From a logistical point of view Codemasters will already have models for a lot of the rallycross cars from the late 80's and early 90's (as rally cars). All the competitive Division 2 cars were Group B machines and the Division 1 cars were mainly Group A cars (with the exception of the FWD Golfs and Kadetts). Of course the rally car models CM have would need some minor visual and major mechanical tweaks, but they at least already have a solid starting point for the rallycross cars of that era.
