Spinning out in a race leads to more spin outs?...

Is the game programmed to make traction harder after you crash? The first time I crash, spin out or get knocked off the track by another car it's as if suddenly traction is much harder to control and my likelhood of spinning out again increases greatly. Is it some simulation about worn spots on the tires?

You should really take care just after spinning. If you let the tires temperature panel on, you will see that when you spin, the temperature of the rear tires goes up. Overheats!

And when tire temperature is up, grip is down.

So, until the temperature gets back to normal, you have to be extra careful.
