One big step forward but 2 steps back!.......

Recommended Posts

Massive improvement on the graphics and replay cameras but a huge disappointment that career mode is gone.....just when I thought we have got there and then to see the removal of a named driver is such a big let down. This should of been the version from the start so we could have enjoyed the sounds of the previous engines in the nice detail we are now seeing. I hope the next release allows a proper career mode and perhaps the choice of doing it in today's cars and pre hybrid. I guess the challenge was the podium celebrations for removing career mode but there are ways round that and I would have preferred NOT to have the celebrations in favor of having a career.

Until they restore career mode, safety car, and introduce a formation lap, pit calls, and a decent podium celebration......this game is unfinished or for kids!

The 'strategy' is, one, two, a few or many of them will be there... => F1 2016
Or CM will be a business of the past...

Yeah I think the priority was getting the racing right in this one which I think they've done then add those bits back in later now that the new engine and that is now properly set up.

@sjsharp2010 It took them 6 years to get the racing right? This kind of stuff should have been sorted 3 years ago. There is less content in their 6th release than in their 1st one.

I did not think I would be saying this about 2015 but I believe 2015 is a big step forward. The gameplay, AI behaviour, presentation all-round, voice commands are all very good. It's essential that they do add things such as Career back for 2016 but I don't think I'll be bored of 2015 for some time.

And this is from someone who was very against it a week ago.

no I mean on this engine people I have noticed. People have been asking a lot on here and elsewhere I've noticed for a more sim type racer and I think that's what CM have tried to deliver with this one because the old engine couldn't handle it. Now that they've sorted the racing out they will restore some of the features that have been lost this year like career mode.

Exactly I think they're going for a quality over quantity approach with 2015. True it's  missing a lot of features but certainly the most popular ones like career will make a comeback I would imagine in 2016

Bad decision. We could not care less about the new engine. It's their problem. It is our problemn however when they ask for MORE money than ever and then strip established AND EXPECTED game modes. NEVER EVER strip modes, add to them, don't remove. Goes to show the framework around it must be incredibly unstable.

They already are. Read news over the past few months or what? I give them around 12-24 months before liquidation or takeover.
I also believe that they know now, that (if they have the funding still) F1 2016 has to be the best Codemasters game in history and virtually bug free or they can close doors. What a shame.

Does anyone know when the fia license runs out? ...it's no excuses for 2016 and if that fails to deliver then it's time to hand it back to Sony or the makers of gran truismo!...or even slightly mad  (pcars)

Maybe but sometimes you have to go backwards in order to go forwards though. Only time will tell us whether it works out or not.
