DChrisSLO 0 Posted November 4 A detailed description of the issue. Please include any error codes here. When i start the game before it loads into the main menu it takes forever to communicate with servers, after a solid minute or more it allows me in the menu, but when i try to switch between menus, it sometimes goes back to saying "communcating with online services" for a minute. Also, when i go to time trial it tends to not show the leaderboards (it says 0 players and an empty leaderboards even after waiting, but sometimes after waiting it finally shows). In multiplayer everything works fine, i havent noticed any more time waiting. I have a different pc at my girlfriends place, and there it works normally. i Also tried a different pc on my place on the same internet and it shows the same issue, but when i then connected that pc to a mobile network via a hotspot in works no problem. So i guess its an internet problem, but how do i fix it? Platform PC What version of the game you are using (Shown on the start screen in the bottom left corner of the screen) 1.12 Game-mode? time trial and main menu We need to be able to make your problem happen internally so we can fix the issue. Can you make the problem happen again? yes, on my pc yes How do you make the problem happen? By turning on the game on my pc at home. What troubleshooting have you attempted? Please always try to attempt to fix the issue updating graphics card, verifying game install, minor modifications on the router. What peripherals are you are using (gamepad, wheel make & model etc) Xbox One Gamepad Any screenshots or video of the issue? If the video is long, please include a timestamp for when the issue appears.
BarryBL 4,314 Posted November 4 Does this happen exclusively in the menus? Also, can you check your ISP settings and If you are running a Firewall, ensure it is set to allow the game to communicate on the following ports for both inbound and outbound traffic: TCP and UDP port 3074. You may want to check things like port forwarding and general Internet capabilities on your package
DChrisSLO 0 Posted November 4 (edited) It happens only in the menus, yes. First it shows the "comunicating with online services" on the top left corner of the menu and then it switches to fullscreen as it shows in the pictures and stays like that for some time. When i drive it does not happen (it runs as it should). i am running a firewall, and my my internet connection is good (15 ping, 20mbps down / 10mbps upload) and strong (Wired). also one of my friends who has the same internet provider and router got the same issue at the same time (on the 27th october in afternoon), so we are almost certain its not the games fault, but something is preventing it to run properly. Do you have any idea what could that be, if we can fix it on our own or do we need to call our internet provider? i ve never messed with the router and the internet settings on my computer before this happened. BarryBL 4,314 Posted November 4 I would look into your firewall settings and allow the ports in the previous posts. Also, check with your ISP as there might be some issues there if it happened at the same time for 2 different people. Also, I'd recommend checking your NAT type and changing it to 'Open' would help.
steviejay69 1,100 Posted November 6 I just want to add a note of caution here. MOST SOHO (small office, home office or domestic) routers can have odd problems with port forwarding. Wherever possible, you should use uPnP for your firewall as sometimes, setting specific port forwarding can disable the uPnP functionality. You then can have port forwarding issues for every device on the network as they are undefined. I advise contacting your ISP to ensure you are running the latest firmware for the router and also advise a hardware reset once upgraded, entering ONLY the settings required to connect to your ISP that they either specify or automatically send to your router (pre-configuration or distributed settings). Bear in mind that not all devices are current and if they are misbehaving you might want to look at 3rd party devices, but remember that support will be your responsibility. If you are with a common ISP, you can often pick up the same or newer variants of your ISPs preferred equipment if they are not willing to upgrade it for you. Sometimes direct substitution like for like can reveal faulty or underperforming equipment.
