Missing Damage/Tyre Indicator on Console Version

Recommended Posts

Any chance of an official response as to whether the damage/tyre indicator was a deliberate omission from the console version or can we expect to have it patched back in?

I don't want to speak to the game over the headset/through the pad...especially at night when people are in bed.  Using the controls to browse through menus during the race isn't ideal as I'm racing.

Yes, I appreciate you can ask your engineer, but that doesn't help those on Xbox that don't have Kinect and as I understand it you can still use voice commands on PC and that version does have the indicator.

If you press the button for the engineer (Left Bumper) and then use your dpad, you can manually select the option from the list.

Also voice commands are not currently in the PC version of the game.

Will the Tyre wear indicator be added in future updates though? I understand and appreciate how hard everyone must be working to get rid of the bugs

Easier said than done though if your driving  :)

Still no answer as to whether it's a deliberate omission from the console version or if it'll be patched in.

Just want to know if it's a bug or a feature basically, so we know whether to wait for it in a patch or get used to life without it.

Oh come on! you dont need tyre wear indicators- i can feel when i need to pit and have never had a problem. Putting the indicator in will dumb it down

Actually, you are wrong. Take a look at this video, the guy is running the temp indicators (not the tyre wear but still, the temps are not available on console as well) and look how dynamic and important they are. The temps are changing literally from corner to corner to straights (including engine temp). You can't ask your engineer about temps every 3 seconds, not to mention how vague his responses are. Tyre wear - it should be included, temp status - MUST be included.

Well good for you, if it's optional you don't need to use it.

All im asking is as it's on the PC version, should it or shouldn't it also be on the console version? Why put it on one version and leave it off the other two?

i got a Puncture on my front left in Spain bacause I didn't realise how hard the track is on front left tyres. So in that case it would have been nice to have an indicator to tell me what I was doing wrong.

Good news. I guess it is confirmed that the omission is either a bug or an oversight from CM's part.

ITS ABOUT CHOICE @STEFAN

There's a fundamental contradiction when CM says "we don't add x feature because we want it to be a balance of sim and accessible to new players" when they leave out features that make it accessible...ESPECIALLY features that are in one version of the game but not in another. It's about giving your consumers the choice about how they want to experience the game. Clearly this is a case of oversight, not of design .
