Chaynay 0 Posted November 5 A detailed description of the issue. - We are using 2 setups, both Fanatec F1 Clubsport. When attempting Split-Screen and you need to press X to activate player 2, it does not register. If however we use 1 wheel setup and 1 PS4 controller it registers player 2. We have tried all different type of logging in and out and making sure the PS4 controller wasn't on, no matter what we attempt the 2nd wheel setup can not be identified and activated for player 2. We got this whole set-up so we would be able to play split-screen like this but can not. Platform -PS4 What version of the game you are using (Shown on the start screen in the bottom left corner of the screen) -Not sure as this is for one of our clients and will need to reach out or make a site visit to verify this. Game was freshly updated and installed in October 14, 2020. Ranked/Unranked/Leagues - When trying to do split-screen. Wired or Wireless Connection? - Both USB connections. Have not tried the PS4 controller on USB, however. The amount of players in your session? - Trying to do 2 with 2 wheel-base setups. Were you the host? - Yes, tried switching users and still did not work. Did this issue happens for everyone in the session, just some people or just yourself? What did they see? - N/A We need to be able to make your problem happen internally so we can fix the issue. Can you make the problem happen again? - Yes and I'm confident you could too, as I've seen reports of other users having different types of wheel setups as ours and having the same issue. How do you make the problem happen? - Just try to play split-screen when using two wheel bases. Can you add a report code. How to find this is in Main Menu > Game Options > Settings > 16 digit code in the bottom left of the screen. Please make sure that this is the code from the session you had the issue in. Adding report codes from as many users in your session as possible would be really helpful here. - This would need to be done by our client or again we need to make a site visit. I doubt that there would be much help in the report code as there is no register of the button press, and no errors being present. Just simply no response at all. Please avoid having us have to make a site visit or contact the client as this will only delay and cause issues and we need to know if we need to return equipment ASAP. Video of the issue, including timestamps. Did you stream the session? - No.
BarryBL 4,314 Posted November 5 Hi @Chaynay At the moment, we don't have the support facility for 2 wheel rigs to be ran on Split-screen.
Chaynay 0 Posted November 6 Hi @BarryBL I’m not sure I understand. Are you saying that you don’t have a setup to try and confirm this and try and further help with our issue? Or are you saying that it is not possible for us to have two rigs work on split screen?

He's saying it's not possible for two wheels to work on split screen. This is possibly due to the way the wheels are identified in-game. On PC, the drivers are really meant to control one wheelbase and peripherals. Two identical wheelbases would have the same ID. Then if the pedals were separate, how would the game determine which pedalset belongs to which wheelbase (usually consoles prefer base-connected pedals)? Two different wheels might be successful. Maybe they only tested it with two pads or a pad and a wheel. Or a keyboard and either.
Chaynay 0 Posted November 10 Okay so I understand that. Thank you for the PC information. Can anyone confirm that two different wheel bases would work with PS4? Or maybe a two entirely different brands like a Logitech and a Fanatec? Or if this would work on a different system like Xbox or PC? Or maybe the new PS5 or Xbox systems? BarryBL 4,314 Posted November 11 Hi Chaynay, Regardless of system, two wheels would not work at this time with F1 2020.
Chaynay 0 Posted November 13 Hi BarryBL, Thank you so much! You’ve answered my question here. Now we know how to proceed here, I appreciate the support, keep up the great work! So to deal with this we are looking into options like getting a second system and possibly a multi viewer 2x1 hdmi solution, we just get concerned about potential input latency. Thanks again! I think you need to revise what's possible. It won't be two player split screen mode with two systems and with two systems you'll need two screens. I've no idea what you mean by a multi-viewer 2x1 HDMI solution, you could save a lot of time by asking what is possible. Play 2 player mode with two pads? (Not even sure that's trouble-free). 2 systems with 2 screens can play in LAN mode (Never tried it like probably 99% of players). Chaynay 0 Posted November 14 Okay so let me draw out the setup for you. He wanted a setup connected with his theater. By theater, I literally mean a projector and full surround sound system and Savant as an automation control. We intend on getting a second PS4, so we can use the second racing wheel. They will most likely be playing LAN races. So no split screen anymore. However, instead of having a second display, we will use a device with 2 hdmi inputs, and 1 hdmi output, that will process the signals from both PS4’s and then combined them and project them out as one image, which would appear similar to a “split-screen”-like image. I can find one and list it here when I find a decent one to give you an idea of what I’m referring to. My issue with this unique scenario would be the “process time” might cause a significant input lag, and ruin the racing experience.

Side by side inputs? 3840x1080? A 32:9 input to a projector? Not to mention sync issues when the consoles don't guarantee to output a constant 60fps, never mind at the same time. Watching with interest....
