Pad users what do you use for acceleration and braking?

Recommended Posts

I use my custom control configuration and use the right analogue stick for braking and accelerating. I feel this gives a more realistic and controllable experience of using throttle and brake.

Thoughts?

R2 and L2 this year since I bought on PS4 but on PC I always used RT and RT on my xbox 360 for windows controller. The RT and LT on the 360 controller have so much control its crazy at least for me, been using it for like 5 years now.

X for power and square for brake and the dpad for steering. Might sound weird but it works for me and i can match guys on wheels

Interesting answers, using the right analogue stick I just love the way you can flick between gas and brake.

I doubt that. Not to mention that this be undriveable without assists

I left it on dfault as I've always done.
triggers work great here, as long as you know how to not press on full power/break, there's a whole range of movement just like a peddle :p

I use no assists and I'm pretty quick. Doing 1:35:8 around Malaysia in TT and I use triggers. Buttons are just stupid when you need to be gentle on the throttle through some corners

Buttons certainly seem like a weirder choice on PS4... on older PS controllers all the buttons were pressure sensitive of course, so I could understand it then. Just what you're used to I guess.

I'm not but it's easy to check. What's your best time in TT at any track you choose and how does it compare to the top 50 in the leaderboards. Without assists, obviously.

doesn't seem to matter what i use as the ai just swamp me on straights for some reason... I prefer using r2 and l2 but i tried using the sticks and it just doesn't feel right for me.
