F1 2015 PC Patch 14/07/15

Recommended Posts

I think your management need to push Sony and Microsoft to expedite patch release for PS4 and XBOX one, your situation is terrible. All this chaos will strongly damage your sales figures when you release the game in July 26 for US and Brazil. It is mandatory to rectify major issues before then, else kiss US market bye bye!!!!

This isn't the only thing we're working on. We have more patches planned.
Can you give us any more information regarding console patches?
At the moment, all I can tell you is that we know a lot of users are having issues, and we're working on getting them fixed and patched ASAP. Console patches go through a much different process than PC patches before going live, so take more time to implement.

So  about   4 to 6 week's  for the console's  patch  then atleast  ...

Sony and Microsoft have to approve the patches. It's the same as with PCars. It takes weeks.
Not true for Sony anymore, cant speak for Microsoft.
Patches still go through a submission process at Sony.

you have 2 weeks before July 26 release date in US .. people are pretty much connected through social media and youtube. The damage is already done. Fixing it before that date is not a choice for you. Your management need to push Sony and Microsoft to expedite patch posting. That is a P1 for you else you have lost not less than 50% of your fan base

At this point I'll appreciate any sort of patch being pushed out, so long as it's working towards making the PC version look and play like a PC game. However, I'm still a bit disappointed that my game still looks almost 3D with this shitey chromatic aberration bollocks. I'm actually getting headaches at times because it feels like I'm wearing prescription glasses when I don't need them.

The appearance of the PC version has to be of priority on the to-do list, surely? Besides the major gameplay fixes.

The cockpit camera is unusable!!!://///
Please cockpit camera settings (position, FOV, dinamic)!!!!
How exactly is it unusable? It's the only camera I use and I can't see what's wrong, the fov is bigger than previous games and the height is perfect.

Ouch this update isn't going to go down well,  I think the fans were expecting a bit more after the radio silence.
I can feel this pain :D!
People want fixed some serious things, like multiplayer, black screens, ghost cars, and 100 other things where listed here : http://forums.codemasters.com/discussion/7915/f1-2015-official-bugs-glitchs-and-requests-list-to-help-codemasters-fix-that-faster#latest
and you bring a patch with problems nobody hered about it.

Thanks for the updates, we appreciate them.

I have a question for you though with regards to multiplayer on consoles/xbox one. Do you plan on adding more game modes down the line, with other settings... like Full/Short Quali with 25% race? I really enjoyed doing a good qualifying session before a race that wasn't too long.

Also under the custom lobbies part, is it at all possible to add a public custom lobby list, or even just a list of available lobbies and the players in them? And allow a ready up system so players can wait for the lobby to fill up before starting?

Once the bugs are sorted out, there are big things we're all kinda hoping you'll add to the game as well.

CM   do not care about the 50 copy's they might   sell in the USA  look at last year's nightmare of the physical  disc's  that NEVER ARRIVED  it ended up being  DLC  in  USA  only OR WAS THAT 2013 ???  oh well you get the point    ...

Please add SLI support and get rid of the blurry graphics (get rid of chromatic aberration, increase draw distance, add MSAA option) as a priority.

Thank you for not ditching the game as is and continuing to provide support.

Dear Codemasters,

F1 2015 has great AI. It has unbelievable graphics. Its handling is the best that you have produced. Thats it. I only have 3 good things to say about your game.

What have you done to career? It doesn't even exist!!! I bet you all my money that everyone will become bored of the game once the hype dies out, and everyone will turn back to ur second crappy game, 2014. BRING BACK PERSONALISEATION to keep us happy.

Secondly, online is so segregated, after all the pointless options and categories of online multiplayer, i end up racing 3 people. 3 people. what kind of an f1 race has three people? And bring back split screen. I used to play it all the time with my 9 year old brother who loved split screen, but when i told him that u idiots had got rid of it, he burst into tears. And get rid of the ants and cockroaches.

So basically, just bring back everything form f1 2014, but keep the handling and graphics from the latest version. And do it soon.

What was your game design and features guy thinking. i think he wanted to het u lot out of business. FIX THE GAME

This is good news and thanks for the posting an update. Communication is just as important as the actual fixes.

You actually think 50% or more is the fan base in the US for F1? hahahahahaha. If that was the case then Codies would have released first in the US, put a Yankee accent in the game (PCars) ETC ETC. And you do know F1 2015 got to no.1 in the charts without this '50%' fan base you are alluding to. And then you seem to imply that patching the game is more important for you yanks than the rest of us? You should be thanking everyone who has the game as they are effectively beta testing it for the NA market. You can start with me OK?

The patch for whatever format is most welcome and for whoever, even for you lot. And if you think Codies have the clout to dictate to Sony or Microsoft I think you are a tad naive. Both companies have strict policies. Don't know about MS but I'm sure I read the patch once submitted to Sony takes two weeks of testing before it's release.

Saying that I wouldn't be surprised if the game for the North Americian market is released with the patch, for consoles anyway.

I don't see how you could have patches for so many issues ready so soon after launch unless you already knew all about those issues well before launch - which would indicate a conscious decision to knowingly sell a majorly defective game.

I got the game on DVD where do I go to get the patch
Wow, if you really did have the DVD you'd already have the patch. The disk installs on Steam, which then dowloads updates automatically.

Well, in CM's defense... you have a detailled schedule for years (yes, they are right now planning games that will be released in ~2018+
When it comes to finishing a game you're running out of time - always. no matter who you are or what game you are programming, time is always missing. this is because investors want to earn money as soon as possible. an within the last weeks before launch you have to present a running version which you can send into production. Don't forget, you need to burn (press) discs, print the package, ship it to all the countries and i wont even go into juristic problems (restrictions, pegi, etc etc), shipping(!!) so you need a LOT of time between "the thing is done so far" and "the thing is in the shop".
within this time bugfixing and programming keeps going on - of course it does! they would be ruined if not.
This is a pretty simple reason why companies can ship a day1-patch and following updates real quick - they USUALLY aren't just jerks who first wanted to screw the players with a bugged game. not everyone is a bad person... they are just ordinary programmers.

in this case they had enormous pressure as they wanted to present this "next-gen-thing" during spring... who decided that or why - i don't know and likely most employees don't know. It's not their job to know, it's their job to hack as much code into their goddarn computers as possible in a GIVEN time. I just don't understand why they switched from the autumn-release - well i do unterstad the emotional bonus providing a game during season but i don't get it from a programmers/developers/marketing-dudes point of view. I don't know how the games developmentstatus was when this decision was made but it was a wrong one...
of course this is the reason why there were no press releases/testings as they saw they were in delay... i mean: they're not stupid, they do have eyes and a freaking brain. giving an even earlier release to the press would have ended up in a massacre - i don't have to explain that bad press is bad business...
maybe this actual release would be sth like a press-status and hopefully they will bring it to some kind of an end... even if i'm not that optimistic as CM (in my memories) isn't known for massive post-release updating/patching...

@tulloch100 As soon as you logged in to steam a 70 mb patch downloaded itself automatically in the background.
So you can be sure that the patch is installed already.

Launch steam, hit the "play" button - if you can play, steam already got it for you. the patch isn't big, took only seconds to update earlier today.
Steam does that automatically for you.
