I don't believe those work yet. My Fanatec wheel has a gear indicator and it doesn't work either. Rally doesn't seem to share any external data so any external gear indicator/shift lights/rev meter etc... don't work at the moment. I kind of wish Rally would incorporate that and all the buttons/switches on the dash of the cars.

Well i did get it working, here is what i done to get the rev/rpm light working on G27:

Went here:

http://www.fanaleds.com/

Downloaded then installed fanaleds.

Changed "active profile" to Dirt Rally

Went to "Help" menu in Fanaleds program, then down to "setup games Automatically", pointed the program to C: which is where my Dirt Rally is installed, one that had ran clicked "save settings to active profile".

Then, navigated to "hardware_settings_config.xml" which is located in  C:\Users\your username\Documents\My Games\DiRTRally\hardwaresettings

Found this line:
<motion enabled="true" ip="127.0.0.1" port="30500" delay="1" extradata="1" />

Changed the "1" at the end of that line to a 3.

Then, added this line below it:

<led_display nativeSupport="false" fanatecNativeSupport="false" />

RPM light now works correctly.

Also, i have heard sometimes the mentioned line is not in the xml, if not, just add it with the 3 instead of the 1.

I've got the G27 wheel and I can't get this to work with the above instructions. Maybe they have updated the version as it says it supports Dirt Rally now, but doesn't work for me. Would be a nice feature since I have started playing without the HUD on. Any one else have any luck with this?

Well mine is still working fine with doing exactly what i did above, must have fanaleds running in background for it to work, incase you didn't do that, i forgot to on pc restart on a couple of occasions.

This is with the current version of fanaleds on the site

Followed you instructions and have the program running but no joy. No big deal you can hear the RPM's anyway.

after looking at your instructions again I made the changes to the hardware config in the game directory not the user, have to see if that will work.

Is there any chance this is something that's being worked on without needing to tinker with files? I have absolutely no issues doing it, but I am curious if there is any word from the team on if this is a known issue being worked on?

Ey guys, i made it work in this way.
Just replace this text de motion_plataform part of de .txt to this:

<udp enabled="true" extradata="3" ip="127.0.0.1" port="30500" delay="1" />
<DefaultValueCausedByCreatingAnE nativeSupport="false" fanatecNativeSupport="false" />
    </motion_platform>
    <controls neutralTimeToShift="0.250000" />

Start Fanaleds and that's it, it works now.

It's in Documents\My Games\DiRT Rally\hardwaresettings\hardware_settings_config
You should open it with the notepad and replace the old text part with the new one.

This shouldn't affect you if you have a Logitech wheel. Maybe the fanatecNativeSupport="false" is giving you trouble.
