MaxDamage1 0 Posted November 24 Hi, we play league races and due to various desync issues we want to try using the LAN function to play over internet. Has anybody achieved this by port forwarding rules? I could not find any official documentation on this. We are on PC / Steam. I added the follwing port forwarding rules in my router, found on a website: TCP: 27015-27030,27036-27037 UDP: 4380,27000-27031,27036 With those settings nobody was able to join my session. I checked with tcpview the ports in use when I open the LAN session. I found out the following UDP ports were used by the game executable as well: UDP: 21414 - 21415 After including them I could observe when somebody tries to join the session (Name and nationalyity shown in lobby), but he gets instantly disconnected with the message "the session does no longer exist". TLDR: Has anybody found a method to make a LAN game joinable by IP over internet? PS: We do not want to use a VPN, to avoid all cleints have to do a setup procedure. steviejay69 1,100 Posted November 27 LAN game requires local IP. A VPN is also not recommended as per other threads on the forum. Plus it will not solve issues of poor connection to other players, read how the internet works. A few forum members have asked / suggested the idea of servers for multiplayer either hosted by CM or as dedicated paid servers ran by players or leagues. (Properly configured servers would allow players with poor connections to be blocked / kicked / banned.) It's not been a game-changer (it hasn't changed the game or CM's approach).
