How do I enter the world of professional Motorsports?

I apologize if this isn’t the right sub to post this. I’ve gotten really into cars over the past few years, and my interest in Motorsport has grown with it. My dream is to race in F1, which is admittedly unlikely. I’m a 17 year old kid in America, so where do I start on this undoubtedly long journey?
