[PC -Wheel] - Lag spikes every lap

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Would really appreciate some help on the issue as I've searched all over the internet and no solution...

  • A detailed description of the issue. Please include any error codes here: Lag spikes in all game modes. FPS is fine usually but then sudden freeze and unfreeze. Tried lowering graphics and no change. The game used to be fine but ever since the last update this started happening Code: AAXG-RBDC-JPBH-PBJE
  • Platform: PC (Graphics card is GTX 1050Ti)
  • What version of the game you are using (Shown on the start screen in the bottom left corner of the screen): 1.13
  • Game-mode? All
  • We need to be able to make your problem happen internally so we can fix the issue. Can you make the problem happen again?
  • How do you make the problem happen?
  • What troubleshooting have you attempted? Please always try to attempt to fix the issue. I've tried changing priority in task manager to high, used game booster, reinstalled game on SSD, lowered graphics, tried launching with Dx11 (which used to solve the issue back in September)
  • What peripherals are you are using (gamepad, wheel make & model etc): Wheel is Logitech DFGT, pedals are Fanatec CSL Elite (no loadcell)
  • Any screenshots or video of the issue? If the video is long, please include a timestamp for when the issue appears. Video attached

Are you on the latest firmware for the wheel? Also, can you add your connectivity settings too. Do you also get this in single player game modes like Grand Prix, for example (TT is technically online)

Do you run with a custom control scheme? Have you verified integrity of Steam files?

Hey @BarryBL,

Thanks for the quick reply. What do you mean by connectivity settings? Do you mean like ethernet or wifi? (I'm on ethernet at around 20mbps).

Yeah firmware is the latest (last one was released in 2010).

Yes I run custom control scheme and I've verified integrity of steam files.

I've observed the issue in all modes including GP.

Yes. Wired/Wireless?

Can you try deleting the custom control scheme, verify the integrity of Steam files, re-boot and attempt.

Seems like the issue is solved by deleting, verifying and rebooting. Thanks for your help!

Hi @BarryBL,

After I fixed it yesterday through the steps you said the micro freeze has come back. I could do the steps again but I don't think it would be a long term solution. My connection is wired.
