Race Fuel

Recommended Posts

So I have abit of a problem. When it comes to race day I always start with way to much fuel. I can literally drive on high 80% of a race.
Witch means I eat tires and there is no way I can adjust level of fuel I'm starting with. I tried 50%, 100% race distance and its just even more fuel for 100% distance.

I didn't see anyone having this problem, so am I doing something wrong or other people just don't care.

There is a problem with fuel mixes. Apparently rich is not the fastest one. We have to wait they solve that. For now I'm using normal and lean.

Ok I understand what you saying, but I have completely different problem. If I use normal for duration of race, my fuel will go from +3 at start to I don't know how high, meaning if I leave it at normal, I will end up with 10kg of extra fuel at the end. I'm just loosing time and tires with all this extra weight. I'm sure there must be a way to adjust with how much fuel I wanna start the race. Or at least it should be.

Oh ok I get it. Sorry about that.

I'm playing on my PS4 so I can't see how much fuel I have left during race (another bug).  Usually I stick with normal but during the race my engineer just advises me to tune engine down a bit, usually 50% races I'm running 4/5 laps on with Lean Mix and then I go back do Normal. Not using rich during race nor qualify.

You have a different problem and would be nice to hear more opinions from players who have PC version too.

Regards and sorry

Fuel usage/mixtures are messed up at the moment, so there's nothing you can do. I'm on PC so like you I can see how much I have (soon to be added to consoles) and always have many laps of fuel left at the end. It has been talked about a lot here, but there's so many threads being posted that they soon get bumped three or four pages back.

Codemasters know about it and are working on a fix as posted here.

fuel usage in general is messed up I think, so not just mixtures.

If you're at the front, turn the engine up, it will burn the fuel, and add a few seconds to  your lap time, but it will lighten the load. You just have to think of it as your lean setting, whilst burning off excess fuel.

I'm on PS4 running 100% race distances and I've been experiencing the same thing. I have way too much fuel and can run rich as much as I want. In practice mode there's a slider that shows the fuel kg and how many laps that corresponds to, but you can't view any of your setup on race day so impossible to see how much fuel you start with....

I've noticed in practice that a full tank in will often correspond to over 60 laps, on races that are say, 54 laps.....

Im not entirely sure on the actual F1 rules, but it could be possible that all cars now have to start every race with the same amount of fuel (100kg(?)) regardless of what track....

whatever the the reason it can't be right, because at the moment there is completely no reason to ever use the lean fuel setting.

Thanks a lot for respond guys, now I see that its actual bug and will get fixed, soon hopefully.
F1 rules are no more then 100kg per race. That said, they can start with anything below that number. And usually they are under fueled.

So they should really add pre-race setup, cause also pit stop strategy is always just one, and I cannot change that one as well. Its always option/option/prime and I usually want option/prime/option, so at the end I need to calculate during race and ignore engineer telling me to pit, or pit when his not saying anything :)
