Random engine power lost?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I´m playing with a bunch of people in a couple of leagues. We´re playing DR everyday and we´re starting to know the game in depth; so very small changes and differences are quickly identified...

Since a few weeks were talking about a phenomenom that is driving us crazy: RANDOM POWER LOST (engine related)

One day this became manifest running with the 2010´s Mini Countryman in Montecarlo (dayly event). We all made very bad times compared to our friends that ran with the Ford Fiesta at very similar skills levels. The car just did not accelerate and didn´t got a decent speed at strights. After this event, I tried myself the same event with a stock Fiesta and the difference was quite noticiable! Fiesta showed much more nerve and power. They did not appear to belong in the same car class.

With the passing days we´ve been "auditing" this behavior with many different cars in many conditions and places but theres not a clear indicator of why this is happening.

Have you notied something similar? I mean, did you run ran with a very familiar car to you and noticed a HUGE drop in power?
Maybe i´m just going nuts

REGARDS

Ps1: my pedals are fine...
Ps2: the environment where I noticed this are the public events. Yesterday, for example, at Germany with the 131 the cars seemed like a 60/70 BHP car... and was very difficult to get speeds above 100km/h.
PS3: We´ve noticed this on each n every car class

Yes, I noticed something similar in the last monthly event, or the one before that, using the cars in the 70's class... and on the final six stages (Wales) my Escort was very down on power. I couldn't match any of my PB's, and I lost my second overall spot over those stages thanks to that. It was very strange. I have only encountered it a handful of times since then, but a game restart has helped in those situations. I just assumed it was something that Codemasters were aware of and working on - now I'm not so sure about that.

Thanks for your feedback!
I´m sure something (not controled) is happening.

Indeed, its very strange. We still cannot determine or recreate the conditions to force it appears.

Game restart its not a solution in any case... what if you suffer this running a daily event? or a league?...

I´m looking forward for CODIES to belie this one.

There is a bug that stops cars hitting their rev limiters, apparently it will be fixed with the next update
Mistery solved!

Thanks  :)

@OzoreXS Did you upgrade the Fiesta? You have to do that to be competitive in the second daily.
Nope, I dont have any upgrade but the advanced settings yet.. but, even at initial level is normal to go just at 145km/h at straights?

I dont know, maybe your right.

Yeah the 2010 cars are very slow when they're not upgraded. So that's your problem, unfortunately. :/ Get to work on upgrading them cars!

Yeah... but even that way... The first thing I do when a new car pack is released is to upgrade every single of them. By now, I can pretty much say I've spent 2/5 of my "income" on perks. Then I'd do just one rally, get like 3rd or 4th and then retire the rest of the season.

All just to get all cars upgraded ASAP.

What I noticed in a couple of events is that the car feels like they're not upgraded. Slower acceleration, lower top speed, less agility (due to increased weight)... but I'll tell you it is very very rare to happen...

Hi
I experience the same thing radomly, and for a few days back my engine sound gets faded. More pressure - less sound right now, anyone else having the same problem? This happens both in career and online, with upgraded and non upgraded cars

Yea I have the same issue. Been trying to work it out with @soundfx!  I made a thread in the technical section - http://forums.codemasters.com/discussion/19525/muted-engine-sounds?new=1

Right after 0.25 the engine sound just loses it's "punch". It gors bavk to normal if you stop the car completely, but then it happens again.
