F1 2015 FRUSTRATION - PS4

Recommended Posts

Ok so , here is my experience with F1 2015 so far.
ONLINE STANDARD SPRINT- minimum wait while searching for a hopper lobby is 3mins, but most of the time it takes 6 - 10 mins to find a hopper. When eventually it finds a lobby i'l try to join it only to be shown an error message saying that i was unable to join the lobby, this happens 9 times out of 10.
On the few occasions that i actually was able to join a race the following has happened, Starting in 1st as the lights go out i get put into spectator mode and have to leave the lobby. As the lights go out the race finishing in 1:59 displays and you get 1 lap instead of 5 with the pole sitter winning regardless of actual finishing position.
I was leading a standard sprint race by 12sec, or so i was lead to believe by the map tracker and the timing displays but in actual fact the dots on the map were just ghost cars and the players i was racing against were much closer to me because when the race ended the gap to the nearest car was just 2sec.
Cars waiting on the line to start sometimes disappear or turn into ghost cars & at the end of lap 1 they will have a funky lap time EG: 438:57:347.

TIME TRIAL- this gives me something to play while searching for a multiplayer lobby but this part of the game is also full of bugs and glitches.
I wanted to check how i was doing on the leader board only to find that my fastest times had not been recorded but a much slower time was. for example my fastest laptime on the AUSTRIAN circuit is a 1:21:30 but when i looked on the leaderboard it was a 1:23:93 even though my personal best/ghost car is recorded as a 1:21:3.
Frame rates on certain parts of every track drop & re-emerge dramatically, Shortcuts given in the middle of a straight, no warning for shortcuts but plenty of penalties, oh and by the by 2 wheels on the circuit is not a shortcut.

I would like to know why you stiff your most loyal customers i.e. PS & Xbox users and decide to fix the P.C. versions 1st, cheers codies almost a month later and still not a sniff of a patch for us what the hell is the holdup.

Yep same experience here too.  The next time you exit and go to a time trial it should update your time.  It did for me at least.  Change track or car then do a lap.  You will see the leaderboard position move up.

PC = developers wages + free update uploads
ps4 or xbox1 = developers cost + Sony or Microsoft upload cost
So with that with that in mind they upload to PC first and we get treated like the Q and A department and then then port one patch over to the consoles which contains 2 or 3 of the PC patch.  Plus at the moment with this game the PC version has been hit with more bugs than consoles (believe it or not some have not even been able to play it from day one as it does not launch and a lot of people have not been able to play it since the last patch).  I ain't saying this is the right way it should be done but it makes sense TBH.  I am also not saying the PS4 or Xbox 1 are in a good shape but we all need patches and with Sony and Microsoft charging to upload patches and keep them on their server Maybe you should vent some of your frustration towards them and see what response you get.

I think the multiplayer on f1 2015 is an absolute joke and it's an insult. To pay £44 for a brand new game and to have a poor service in minimal updates and lack of fixes is shameful. Ive purchased every f1 game for consoles since Monaco gp on the mega drive and i would have envisaged that by 2015 i would be able to turn on my£400 ps4, with my fibre optic connection on a brand new game and enjoy a smooth, efficient, fun experience, particularly aftet a hard day at work.

I calculated last night that my AVERAGE waiting time for a hopper on standard sprint was 12 minutes.......12 minutes!!! As others have said on here, i was then (4 times in a row) denied access due to an "ERROR". Quickly doing the maths that means that by the time got into a multiplayer game i'd waited at least 48 minutes to actually play online.

When i got on there my experience lasted all of 5 minutes. I started the mexican gp from 11th place, found myself in 1st by the girst corner but got shoved across the chicane by another gamer. That gsmer spun, i drove across the chicane and was penalised. All of a sudden the screen started to automatically view each driver from their onboard from 2nd down to 10th. I was no longer driving my car. After a few seconds the screen cut to the podium and somehow, after a quarter of of the first lap complete i found myself on the podium in 3rd.....bizarre.

Whilst waiting for the next race in the lobby the screen showed error and that was that.....poor.

When i tried to get back online it said that my network connection didnt work.....rubbish, it worked perfectly. I restarted the ps4, tried again on multiplayer and immediately i was shown error and asked to check network connections which were in perfect working condition. I took f1 2015 out, put several other games in and bang, i was playing those online withing seconds.

It seems that you have to book a week off if you want to play f1 2015 online

Like many others totally with you on that statement.

I'm saddened that CM haven't sorted the online faults out yet glitches are one thing but those hoppers are simply useless.

Luckily from this forum alone with many added friends there's always plenty of private games on offer which seem to connect ok in the lobby but the flaming glitches encountered whilst racing are a complete joke with so many issues that simply shouldn't be there.

Christ there was less glitches and it was more fun online playing Toca touring cars on frigging dial up!! many moons ago.

As you mentioned with fibre optic like myself and all singing and dancing tech it's just unacceptable that it should be like this in this current tech era.

Also apart from the many session bugs and the online glitches the penalty system seriously needs addressing there should be at least a drive through penalty system or stop and go as what real use is a 2 or 3 second time add on when you've been smashed to bits and lost plenty of time getting going again or had to stop for repairs through no fault of your own where numpty is 40 seconds down the road with a slapped on the wrist 2sec add on.
