Tyrewear Tyrewear Tyrewear...

Recommended Posts

I dont know guys about you but my opinion this game has the WORST tyre wear out of all games...literally you make in a 50% race 6 laps in the option tyres and they go off...also with the primes barely 8 laps... and for some reason sometimes i feel option last longer than primes...FFS

do you find it's the same wear rate as the AI? maybe the tyre wear is scaled this year for 50% races (something I LOVED in F1 2011)

Haven't noticed a problem in 100% races. I punish my tyres, they wear out, I take care of my tyres, I catch the AI late in the stint.

Way better than last year, IMHO?

I find I need to pit at least one lap before the AI to stay competitive.

Maybe it is scaled, I've not done 100% race, does anyone know? Makes sense, otherwise I'd be pitting at least 6 times!

no i am no where near the ai's strategy...in most times i make 2 stops and they go for 1..i always make a stop more

Funny because I have the same issue and I'm doing 50%, but the Russian track, my Tyre wear was suddenly amazing.

It's canned though, you cannot punish or look after your tyres, they always go off exactly the same.

100% agree with you. I look after my tyres and they are better than the AI (they drop alot of time compared to me) I was doing malaysia (a high tire wear track) the other night and was able to set my fastest laps on lap 14 even, not bad for tyres that last 18 laps :) Obviously some people struggle more than others but every lockup or slide will take life out of the tyres so be smooth and remember gaining 2tenths a lap at the start of the stint may cost you a sec a lap at the end of the stint. Are the ones struggling driving the same every lap? As the tyres loose grip you have to brake earlier and get on the power later, the times should still be good tho as the car is lighter by then! All races have been 100% in career and 50% for GP, leg AI with no assists

Learn to drive. That's all what you need. 18 laps in Melbourne @ 50% race. So the problems is not in the game. It's your drive style

There is more options on throttle than on and off. You can adjust how much throtlle you put on your tyres, that way you can manage your tyre wear levels. Plus it fairly possible to drive smoothly those corners withot locking tpyres or over heating them.

I am not that good of a driver and I also don't really try very hard to keep tyres in good state, but I don't have any tyrewear problems.

No problems with tyre wear here.
I think it makes a difference if you play with a pad or with a wheel. Analog steering is much better.

I'm managing to make the tyres last just fine but I think the game is programmed to make them wear out faster if you're too aggressive with them so try to take it a little bit easier. As I have to admit I've had them wear down a bit quick when I've driven a bit more aggressively too.

It's all about tyre tempratures

Easier to take care of the tyres with a wheel for sure. Pad players are at a disadvantage for once.

Not trying to be critical, but when i moved last year, there were many things on my "Honey Do" list before i was allowed to get into my set up, so i played F1 2013 on my PC with my wireless Xbox 360 controller for a couple of weeks. Wow, i don't know how you guys do it, because i was a complete disaster.

the tyre wear is definitely adaptive. I did practically a whole race on a set (crashed lap 3) by driving smooth and keeping them from overheating.

It is easier to look after them on 15 than it is on 13 I think.

I did several laps where I took each lap at like 30mph and my tyre wear was exactly the same.

It's canned.
