Getting A Good Launch

I have played every Codemasters F1 title (and plenty before that) but one thing that has always vexed me is starts. How does one get a good start in this game when racing with all assists turned to "off"? It's the only thing I Can't master. It shouldn't be that hard, right? After all, isn't launch control banned in real life? How do the real drivers do it?

Interesting. I knew they had clutch paddles, just didn't that's how they started by using one clutch and then the other. Why can't we get this in an F1 game? I don't have extra paddles, but I do have a clutch pedal and numerous buttons on my wheel. Would really like to see this implemented.

F1 2015 didn't even get a good launch (OHHHHHHHH!!!! DAT BURN) 

All joking aside, I haven't been able to get a single good start yet, and there are some large inconsistencies with the AI from their launch to their lap-times (even taking into account fuel modes and tyre wear)

Tbh I think my starts are ok but compared with ppl using tcs they are bad lol! I think the problem with the starts in the cm games is that tcs is like launch control and just gives a perfect start rather than bogging down if you just go full throttle. I dont think the AI run assists this year as they slide and lock up alot, prob get better start as they are programmed to get good launches? Would be cool to see them get that wrong now and again.
