Can't hear in-game audio whilst talking in discord-F1 2017

I know this is out of date, but I can't hear any in-game audio in F1 2017 when I am talking in discord but I can hear audio when I am not. I can also hear online voice chat when I am in discord but nothing else-no engine or anything. I am on a Mac Mini M1 if that makes any difference. I can also hear the audio from other apps such as iTunes and WhatsApp message notifications just not F1 2017. does anyone know how to fix? help would be appreciated!
