Just drive through it :D You have to take one joker lap during the race. It doesn't matter, if you go though the joker section in the first lap or the last lap, but ypu have to take one, othervise you get a penalty.

Well, what should I say: Congratulations to another wonderful update (For me, all is working fine. No framedrops here.).

One thing I really have to mention is the german translation, I'm not such a big RX-Fan, but translating "Heat-Points" to "Hitze-Punkte" is just funny. I've never heard someone saying it that way. Please let the Terms of the Motorsport untranslated...because we're driving "World Rally Cars" and not "Welt Rallye Autos" ;-) (if you have used it consequently). The same way with "Semi-Finals" -> "Halbfinale" that's correct german language without doubt...but sounds just wrong. Please consider this in future patches.

Lovin the RX update
one thing i noticed 4 laps friend comparison is okay, but at final 6 laps it compares friends 4 lap times and put my last attempt at 6 lap time small detail but hey thought i would mention it! Would like to see fastest laps on leaderboards also.
other than that really pleased with whole dirt rally experiance well done CM and thankyou for listening to all who input good or bad lol

JustBigLee I am still downloading update, did you fix the ability to tab out and restart stages? and how about stage info after race and not just accumulated stages?

Love the update. Rallycross is aditive.

Just... please, make the AI a bit faster and agressive. Even in Very Hard they are to easy to get and pass! I really don't like the blur either. 

And another thing, please, PLEASE, put something like in other sims. You hit a button, you look right, hit another button and you look left. Hit both buttons and you look back. That would be helpfull.

PS - Still no "Faster Chief" achievement unlocked for me  :/! And the "Clean Sweap" in RX seems not to be working either. C'mon, I really want all of the achievements and at least the "Faster Chief " is ungetable  :s

PPS - On my G27, at least in  RX the handbrake (aka 4th gear) as a bit of trouble getting there in the start. Didn't have that problem last night without the update

I agree with the agressive AI, but other things work correctly , u can look to the right and left, u have to give it a key at the keysettings, it normally works

About the achievements, Clean sweap works for me, i got all the achievements from the Rallycross except the one online, beside that i got also the faster chief, but i think u must have it too because you complete a lot of the carreer i guess :O
Dont know why that one isnt popping up at your scoreboard,

anyway i saw some few buggs at Lydden Hill, ( grass in the air) and at the yellow 208 WRX, ( the colour is somethimes black half)

But overall love it! Cant wait for PvP or perhaps all the other WRX events :D

I was getting some micro stutters, but then I noticed that the update had turned V-Sync off, so my FPS was actually roaring along at 120fps+, which is a bad thing on a TV using HDMI (60hz max).

Huge fps los un this update un low/mid-spec pcs i think, i used to play in 1366x766 in mid-high settings with +70fps. Now on 1280x720 in very low settings getting 30fps

My fps is the same as it was before patch - in rallying at least - but as soon as I enter rallycross it drops significantly. It is the fault of the AI cars. :)

An option to lower the AI cars detail would help. The RX tracks also seem to be poorly optimized; hitting tyrewalls or touching grass lowers the fps a lot. Codemasters are aware of it and working on it though.

If you want to get an unsupported wheel to work, go into "choose presets" on the controller screen, and press F1 while you are highlighting the DirectInput device you want to use, and it will let you configure that device as a steering wheel.  This should enable advanced wheel setup.  You might need to assign the steering axis, after loading the direct input "preset", for the advanced wheel options to magically appear.  What a relief to have this working, I've been hanging out to be able to drive this game again.

Lee, any chance you could make the option to enable the H-pattern gearbox available somewhere on the main controller setup screen (rather than only available in-car on the preferences/driving aids menu).

still no corrections for the fact that the impreza is supposed to have a 6-speed transmission, not a 5-speed (right now, in-game, it have a 5-speed transmission)

RX in DiRT Rally is the best thing ever! :D

I've become a big fan of this motorsport over the last 2-3 years and I couldn't be happier with how it is implemented in the game :)

Apart from replicating the race format, which a bit of a given, the best thing is just how close these cars handle to what I expected! The pitching under braking, powersliding out, getting sideways due to terrain and change of surfaces and the overall characteristics of the car. It's just all so spot on!

When I've tried the RX cars at Holjes I didn't have much time with it, but it didn't feel natural and car behaviour didn't match my expectations that closely. Fast forward three weeks and all of it comes together to give an amazing racing game experience :)

There are some areas to improve, most of which were already mentioned in this thread:

- As we were warned the pace of AI in the World RX championship is on the slow side. Although, fastest lap of the fastest AI is not too bad (according to race results)

- I had to lower everything to High and even then I had sudden dips of framerate below 60, usually when an AI car was nearby but on the other side of a barrier, not right next to me.

- There were some graphics issues with flickering of light on steel barriers, but they were not that bad

- In World RX at Holjes the game awarded all AI cars the same total race time, which was a little bit slower than the one I posted. And in my race the AI finished far back, not 0.015s behind

- I'm not convinced the leaderboard rankings shown in game are correct... Either lots of people are cutting somewhere or I'm that much slower. I felt I had good pace, but couldn't get near top 30-50. Even @ji1 couldn't...
Also, the leaderboards for e.g. full circuit at Lydden Hill should be separate for 4 and 6 lap races. Without having access to a full leaderboard it's difficult to know what is going, but those rankings and times just don't seem right


Overall, I'm very very VERY happy with how RX update turned out and I can't wait for the expansion later this month and to race online against other players :)

Thanks for this awesome update, excellent job!!!

For me everything worked quite nicely. With GTX 860m and i7 Asus laptop, I only had to turn down some graphics options to get more stable FPS. (I had to restart the game to get better FPS after changing settings).
Even before this update I considered Dirt Rally as the best rally game ever made, but now it's just as all my dreams come true!

Personally I would like to have also other RX group cars, like in Finland we have autocross group with RWD non-turbo cars i.e. Volvo S40 etc... I just don't like "supercars" in general, (in other words I suck with them :) ) because in real life I have no fricking idea how to drive them, but RWD/FWD cars with 100-200 bhp I have some idea how they should behave. And in Dirtrally the Fiat is absolutely the best and enjoyable car for me! You have very good physics for RWD cars already so it would be just mindblowing to drive RX with, for example, that Volvo S40 I mentioned! And I would also like to see more older (70-90's) RWD rally cars, like Toyota Starlet or something else that hasn't already been in rally games before! Of course it's a matter of licenses, but I thought it would not hurt anyone to shoot ideas aloud! And as also I have mentioned it before,  I would definitely like to have a tiny bit less grip to all cars/tires and/or a bit more inertia feeling, it's just a bit too grippy now!

After Latvala's fantasic victory at Neste Oil Rally I'm eager to wait the Finland stages to arrive! Any photos or other media about finnish stages yet ??

Fantastic work with the rallycross update, playing it feels just like what watching the World RX Championship makes it seem like. I only had time to play the first Open Championship and some custom events (trying to choose one car to buy), and I didn't encounter anything negative. I have a GT 750M, and I found the RX content runs as well as the rest of the game typically does (30-60 fps, 1366x768 medium-high), including with the rear view mirror on, and when I'm smashing into the tire wall, sending tires everywhere.

This is several orders of magnitude more fun than I guess I thought it would be given I don't have a real life interest in rallycross. Not yet anyway.

Disappointed there are auto resets for off-track especially considering this is a closed circuit and I've found it pretty easy to get shunted off the track by the AI. That's my only gripe at this stage though. Hopefully it'll become something that can be switched off.

Game performance wise it ran fine. I get get a bit of stuttering in the last race of my play session. Not sure if that coincided with anything else though.

Enough talk, time to eat something then back to racing.

Thanks for listening to the feedback on hardware support Codies Dev. Multiple telemetry output for dbox and other devices are awesome. Can't believe this day has come.  I can now have my accuforce, dbox and GS-4 seat all working together. Just gotta figure out the settings. :)

Other additions like removing driver hands are making this more of a serious sim. Next up, mouse menu support and in car seat and fov adjustments. I can foresee this game having some sort of longevity with these issues fixed. Might even replace RBR if i dare say.

the ai takes 3 weeks to learn how we drive . then i guess they will up the AI skill levels.from sounds of it they let us drive analyze how good we are make a adjustment . which is a good way to do it.
