Are you planning on including launch control for the rally cross cars?

I sort of hope not, it will take away some of the skill of mastering the starts.

A downhill Pikes Peak could be quite fun though. I remember them saying that they were against mirroring tracks, not reversing. and if it was a toggle button on the track select menu it would keep the track count the same.

I just did my first Fia World Rally Cross event. In Lydden, I finished the heats on rank 12, and it finished right there, no semi finals.
In Höljes, I finished 10th in the heats, no semi finals.

Shouldn't I have been in the semi finals in both cases?
For some reason this seems to happen in the lower tiers, I do think it is because the Semi's on the two lowest levels are 4 laps, not 6 as they should be.

A very nice update ... [Saturday]

RX is pretty fine. Like a lot of others, am also getting a mix of frame rate drops during the race [presume this is because of the AI cars, as it doesn't happen during practice runs] and some occasional [very bad] stutters due to saving replay info.

Could immediately tell the car/track physics had changed for the better [less grip], just a shame it hasn't made it's way into the rally stages. Find the  Ford Fiesta is the easiest of the cars to drive, don't like VW Polo. Which leaves my personal racing choice, the Peugeot 208. With a few suspension & gearing tweaks, it goes like stink

Played through Open, Clubman and then the official FIA WRX races... coming first in every race along the way... quite happy with the AI level so far. At Pro/ FIA WRX level I'm ~0.5sec quicker [fastest lap times, car not fully upgraded], so Elite and Masters should provide a nice challenge for me *[see edit]

Can't wait to get more tracks, as two is nowhere near enough... and PLEASE, get ride of the Motion Blur or at least give us an ON /OFF option

*EDIT* [Sunday]

Played through the Pro WRX championship this morning, quickest lap times were ~4 seconds faster than the AI . That session gave me the fully upgraded WRX car... For the evening session, it was the turn of the Elite WRX championship. Quickest lap times were in the region of 38.5sec for both full circuits, ~3.5sec faster than the AI...

I know CM has said the WRX AI is a little dumbed down ATM. Personally think the pace needs to be picked up by 1 or 2 seconds in each tier of the championship. The AI for the  FIA WRX races would be a good match for Elite level, with masters being 1 or so seconds quicker... IMHO.

I've been suffering a lot more crashes on the rally side of things since the update. Noticeably more in Greece and Monte if I'm being honest. Great fun with the rally cross cars though

I think we need the Canada circuit with its bodywork-exploding jump.
Nice to see they had improved the jumps from last year: they still seemed to be causing some damage to the cars though!

Improvement, but not very good. Not yet.

Thought I'd have another go at the FIA WRX Championship mode, wanted to get the 'Show Boat' achievement

I'll post the following in the bug thread, too...

I'm not too sure whether or not this has already been mentioned, but so far during RX races (only ever seems to be at Lydden Hill so far) my sound output will cutout after a short crackling/popping sound. I minimised to my desktop to make sure that my speakers hadn't broken the first time I encountered the issue, but they hadn't, and it seemed to be an issue with the game. Also regarding sound, the music will sometimes cut out altogether, leaving the menu sounds oh so lonely.

The second issue I encountered was that during an RX race, also on Lydden Hill, when approaching the penultimate turn (on full circuit) before the tight chicane at the end, my guy tells me that there's been an accident, or that there's a slow moving car ahead, when for the most part this isn't the case.

Anybody else had those issues?

I've had the sound issue when during a race at Lydden Hill all sounds would disappear. Once I saved and restarted the game the sound was back on. From what I know the devs are aware of this issue and are looking into it.

Ok. Lets do some balance

- AI is too easy.. even at hardest level.
- Theres a bug sound; when AI car blows a tyre, in the next race the sound of "naked" metal against asphalt is still there in the AI car.
- In the mirror some times AI cars look alwyas with steering fixed to right (with no movement)
- The Ford Fiesta is, by far, a faster car than Polo/208.

I´m just looking forward to race PVP :dizzy:

For me the 208 is the fastest. Go and try to beat 37.385 lap time in Höljes with Fiesta! (I did that with the 208) :)

I did my first FIA World RX event, and noticed that the points aren't awarded like how they are in the real World RX (heats, semis, and finals), but just given 25-18-etc at the end like a rally. I won the first event and collected 25 points, when I would have otherwise received 14 (5 for 12th in the heats, 1 for 6th in semis—just snuck in—and 8 for 1st in the finals).

For everything else the game gets right about World RX, is there a reason the points system isn't accurate?

You know? right yesterday just finnished upgrading the Polo and the 208; and yeah, once they are fully upgraded (and well setted up) those car are pretty fast! ... but, in initial status I still think the Fiesta is the fastest car out there.

The lap time is OK, but what it counts is the 4 laps package :D

Another thing it could be great, would be having 2 or 3 sets of tyres to use during the stages. With progressive wear, so you can use them as you consider... ie, reserving a new set of tyres for the final. Instead of "repairing them in the repair menu.

I also now have sound issue, which started after the RX-update. I drive from the inside dashboard camera. At the start of the rally stage or RX-race, the engine sound is normal, but soon at some point it very clearly lowers volume, so the engine sound is overwhelmed by co-driver and other sounds. Usually at some point of stage or race, the engine sound normalizes for some time and again lowers the volume later. I've had this in RX and rally.
FPS at RX-races are a bit lower at settings, which give me constant 60fps in rally, but I guess there is more going on also. In RX I get some 40-45 with my settings.

Another issue is what seem like micro-stuttering/frame time variance in rain or overcast conditions, regardless of settings or resolution or reported FPS. It is present even in ultra low -preset and low resolution.  I've had this from the first released version. Dry conditions are fine and my normal settings are so, that I'll get constant v-synced 60 fps, as it seem to give the most fluid experience. Benchmark without v-sync: min_fps="70.973885" max_fps="131.755600" av_fps="97.913002" min_fps_ms="14.089689" max_fps_ms="7.589810" av_fps_ms="10.213148"

This is tested with many versions of latest AMD GPU and chipset drivers since release of Dirt Rally. Now with 15.7.1
Windows 8.1 and 10
Hardware tested with: CPU: FX-8350, 990FX-chipset, 8GB ram, GPUs: pair of AMD HD6850 in crossfire and single card and now with a R9 390

Has anybody else had these issues?

Okay, so the points aren't 25-18-etc, but the most you can seem to get is 25. On the last event I did, going into the final the standings properly showed I had 18 points (12 for 5th in heats + 6 for winning my semi); then I won the final but only collected 25 points, rather than 26 (18 + 8). Second place had 22 points though I don't know what the breakdown was.

Polo is fastest for me. Best lap in Höljes is 37:365   with default setups

Just watched a few RX onboards and saw both Doran and Holten clutching both upshifts and downshifts. It surprises me a bit as they use sequential stick.

Is it, or is it the setup? The setup on the three cars are quite different.

Well... a good setup matters. No doubt. I STILL think, Fiesta (cars with no upgrades) is the fastest hehe
