Generic Steering Wheel Setup - ''action_map_preset_win''

Recommended Posts

Never happy with hardware I am often tweaking Joysticks,Throttles and Steering wheels...At the moment I have an old Thrustmaster 360 Modena Pro with the electronics from a Microsoft Sidewinder 2 joystick which worked pretty well in F1 2011 and 2012 but I have a slight problem in F1 2015..The wheel works in respect to inputs but I have a large deadzone...and obviously because this wheel is unsupported the ''Advanced Wheel Settings' is greyed out...

I have tried finding the mapping in the ''action_map_preset_win'' XML File but can't see it...It has to be in the game somewhere because the wheel works

I am looking for the section that holds the default deadzones and saturations for any generic wheel..

So..where is the ''action_map_preset_win'' for the default generic wheel?

Thanks in advance Fellas...

The "direct_input_default" section would likely be the section that would align with a generic wheel.

Changing that likely won't fix the deadzones though, as I'm pretty sure unsupported wheels/controllers having huge deadzones is still an issue that is yet to be addressed by patches.

Are you able to map your wheel in-game as 'Custom'?  If so, before driving, try remapping the steer left and right.  This works with my wheel to remove the deadzone in my G27.  Appears as a bug with the latest patch 4.
