Whats up with the braking Logitech T300RS on PS4

Recommended Posts

When I first bought this game on the PS4 I didn't have a compatible wheel as I previously has a Logitech DFGT, so in the interim I reverted to playing with the controller and to be honest I was pleasantly surprised at how much fun it was, granted I had to turn the settings down a bit compared to what it showed me a glimmer of hope of what the game would be like once I bought a compatible wheel. Anyway finally got  a T300RS yesterday, after spending all of last night playing with the settings, I am having massive issues with the braking. When I brake the car hardly slows unless I brake miles from the corner, If it is a hard braking corner the car just doesn't slow even if I have the brake hard to the floor, at times its even as if the car speeds up mid way through braking.  I was so concerned that it might be a dodgy set of pedals that I have fired up F1 2013, but they seem fine. Is this a known bug/issue with the T300 of the PS4?

It's one of the trillion issues this new F12015 beta features.

Hi there. I have T300RS and it works fine. Try to change control settings to custom etc. If it doesn't work connect your wheel to your PC and go see if the pedals are OK. You can see it through controllers on control panel (Windows).

Maybe a firmware update can help too.

(Make sure you have PS4 button set too).
If it's fine, uninstall F1, delete saved profile and install it again.

I have the PS4 and T300 with F1 rim, i was the opposite, lockup city at the slightest touch of the brakes. Watched the inside sim racing cheap mod video played around with the saturation and linerety settings and mines fine. The pedal set with this wheel dosen't get great reviews but i read on Amazon that somebody had to return the pedal set it was only operating at 50%. Make sure ABS is turned off in game settings.

Thanks for the replies guys,
automa  I don't have a saturation for the brakes in the options only deadzone and Linerety? Out of interest what are your settings?

Checked the pedals on the PC and all good and its running the latest firmware.  I am struggling regardless of whether the ABS is on or off. Off it locks up at the slightest touch and on the car doesn't stop. Guess it may just be that I need to adjust my technique..

That's good, now go on youtube and find inside simracing video for T300 RS pedal cheap mod, cost me about 3 quid and it works a treat.

Hi Fishcake, I had the complete opposite of what you're experiencing with the T300 RS. My brakes were locking up at the slightest touch of the brake pedal. It seems like Automa has explained some good theories, but I will throw my own out there too. When my brakes were constantly locking I uninstalled F1 2015 from my PS4 and then reinstalled the game from scratch, redownloading the patches and updates (On the PS4 home screen if you select options on the F1 2015 game square it will let you uninstall). Once I had reinstalled the game, my brakes felt much better and I could actually drive properly. If you're struggling still it's worth a try, plus if you're worried about losing your saved game data don't be because all your career mode progress etc will still be there even after uninstalling and reinstalling.

I made my own thread on this a while back, as you can see here: http://forums.codemasters.com/discussion/10060/thrustmaster-t300-ps4/p1 so you may also find some further suggestions in there. Hope your brakes start working soon!

Thanks guys, automa what do you have your linerety set too? I dont have saturation option for the brakes!!
Checked on the PC and the pedals are working fine and its running the latest firmware. Im having problems with ABS on or OFF, On I have the problem of not stopping, Off and it locks immediately like

off topic, is there an ear phone socket on the T300rs?

No, you'll have to plug your controller into the USB and headphones into controller.

Immediately locking was my problem, i applied the inside sim racing pedal mod, cost, about 3 quid. Check the inside sim racing T300 pedal mod out on Youtube.

I tried deleting and reinstalling and it immediately felt 100% better, did a few laps and thought cracked it. But then went into settings and it had turned the brake assist to on!! turned it off and its back on and the issues is still there. will keep persisting later.

My G27 broke and I bought the same wheel playing it on ps4 with no issues.  However the pedals that come with it are horrible.  In this game you can easily lock the brakes at high revs at 70%.  The brake pedal is too soft on the generic pedals.  I would recommend buying other Thrustmaster pedals.  I actually bought an adapter to use the g27 ones with it and it works like a charm on ps4 and the pc.

Opposite problem here, my brake pedal is too sensitive. I barely touch it and light my tires. Setting up the linearity to 50 help to have a better control.

I've modded the brake pedal as i said, to give me some progression and set my brake linearity at 40.
