DiRT Rally 2.0 - In-Game Server Connectivity

PJTierney

DO THIS BEFORE POSTING

Check your own devices and/or internet connection first, restart your router etc.

Check if SteamPlayStation Network or Xbox Live are down.

HOW TO REPORT AN ISSUE

Copy this and use it as a template (delete/replace whatever you don't need):

  • Platform: Steam / PlayStation / Xbox
  • Country: x
  • Place where error was encountered: Events / Clubs / Time Trial
  • Kind of error: "Server refused connection attempt" / "Error code ending in 55-58"

No additional details, comments or screenshots are required unless we ask for them.

You can also try emailing the above to custservice@codemasters.com

This thread is not for one-to-one support, but rather to make Support aware of any potential server issues.

A report doesn't mean an immediate investigation will take place, however if there are multiple reports in a short time period then it's a sign that something is happening and info will be passed on to Support who will handle things accordingly.

If you're on Windows 7 and experiencing an error ending in 58-58, update your security settings.

Yep same ol' racenet again.

Pressed OK and tried again and now this came up:

I know of at least two more that have issues

I really hope this wont be the beginning of a new "It seems to be working good over here" and back to the old racenet issues that was everyday for like a month...

Just heard back, support team is monitoring to see if it was just a blip or sign of something bigger.

There were a few recent (minor) security updates on the servers, and they're actively ensuring these minimise connection issues for players.

If there are any planned outages or big maintenances I'll post them via @dirtgame 🙂

Would be cool, if you would post it also here right in time, because I refuse to use any big social media website. Toxic garbage.

@connection: Game seems to work fine again for quite a while now, but unfortunately not fast enough for my club run, last two stages missing, due to time ran out. That's all your fault PJ, don't deny it! 😦🤪

dirtrally2.dirtgame is also working again, but took a bit longer.

Hopefully it's working tomorrow without problems, because I have to do my DRC-run to beat @somethingthing by minutes! Maybe not...

Hi all,

I haven't been able to:

1. Access any of the clubs today. The screen only says that Clubs could not be loaded, please try again later (Club menu not opening, OK to go back to main menu)

2. Access any Leaderboard in the game- time trial, dailies, weeklies, etc. However, the bottom slider shows my position in each of the challenges I took part in today.

The game launches, connects to server and loads up challenges just fine. Attaching pics for point 2, including the totally empty leaderboard.

Hi,
a few questions an admin or the comunity could help me out with:
XBOX:
- is the functionaltity of choosing a "ghost from leaderboard" temporarily not working or not working at all?
- do you have any advice on gravel setup as the number of slots is limited to 8 (whereas there are even more tracks than this)?

thx in advance 🙂

I'm getting connection issues.  Sign in fine but can't start a race.

Seems to work after uninstalling Windows update "November 30, 2020-KB4586876 Cumulative Update Preview for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8 for Windows 10, version 2004, Windows Server, version 2004, Windows 10, version 20H2, and Windows Server, version 20H2" but may just be a coincidence.

Hello, since the beginning of November I have had constant problems with racenet, it doesn't connect and gives errors at all times when connecting to the server.  I have even lost my path due to "disagreements" with the server.

I have tried to uninstall Windows Update and everything remains the same. And I have not installed any other program that can influence, my Internet connection is excellent.

I live in Barcelona

Doesn't this happen to anyone?

Currently connection issues.

I spotted the same when I was about to do my lunchtime Dailies.

I checked and there's some minor general Codemasters maintenance going on at the moment, which slowed various game servers down a little earlier. It didn't knock them out completely as the majority of players were still connected, however any new connection requests would have been a little slower.

It should be all good again now (I've been informed); I just checked now on Xbox and I was able to claim my Weeklies and repair a few cars.

Watched a guy on Twitch getting racenet issues right now so its not completely good yet.

I've been informed that Steam is having issues, which is now having knock-on effects for us.

Thanks for the response, but OK, so it's a steam issue, but unfortunately I have to go to work in 15 minutes and if I quit now, then I lose the monthly completely, right?

I am not 100% sure.

If it's feasible, leave the game running and come back to it.

Not really feasible. As I am in between stages with no service area. If I quit to main menu here, what happens?

In Service? I believe (and I haven't tested this, so mileage may vary) backing out during Service = Okay assuming there is a Quit to Main Menu button on-screen.

Finally got time to get back on again. For future reference 'Quit to Main Menu' enables you to come back at a later time, even if you are in between stages and not at a service area. Thanks for help.

Nice one, that's good info.

If my hunch is right, it's only when you're out on the road that quitting = failure.

There have been intermittent slowdowns all week but this is the first one where I've been notified that servers will potentially be going down for a while.

Thank god. I was worried it was something serious related to Storm Christoph.
