DO THIS BEFORE POSTING

Check your own devices and/or internet connection first, restart your router etc.

Check if SteamPlayStation Network or Xbox Live are down.

HOW TO REPORT AN ISSUE

Copy this and use it as a template (delete/replace whatever you don't need):

  • Platform: Steam / PlayStation / Xbox
  • Country: x
  • Place where error was encountered: Events / Clubs / Time Trial
  • Kind of error: "Server refused connection attempt" / "Error code ending in 55-58"

No additional details, comments or screenshots are required unless we ask for them.

You can also try emailing the above to custservice@codemasters.com

This thread is not for one-to-one support, but rather to make Support aware of any potential server issues.

A report doesn't mean an immediate investigation will take place, however if there are multiple reports in a short time period then it's a sign that something is happening and info will be passed on to Support who will handle things accordingly.

If you're on Windows 7 and experiencing an error ending in 58-58, update your security settings.

A fairly new player to this game franchise having been through all the GT iterations and looking for another driving option to add to the list. Coming from an IT background I will say that the uptime of your racenet service is shocking and given the nature of the game and effort put into cutting down seconds across the learning curve of getting familiar with the driving mechanics and course layouts, it’s such a downer to get a 10 minute penalty for racenet connection issues! Are there no other options to keep the community of players eager to come back after a negative experience? I have been experiencing these connection issues almost daily since purchasing DR2.0

Today’s issues persist and after multiple efforts at viewing replays and tuning the car at different menu stages I can no longer work around this last connection failed error and have been stuck at this point in the weekly for over 20 minutes unable to progress. My only option is to quit to the main menu knowing I will not be able to progress further despite leading after the 4 qualifiers in the AI RX2 challenge! If I did not enjoy driving as much as I do I would genuinely consider never playing this title again! It is unreasonable to expect people to simply continue with this quality of service!

Managed to get a half hour of gameplay done after 2 days of nothing before the servers **** their pants again. I’ve only owned the game for 2 days!
how many posts on this thread are required before some progress is made by Codemasters to rectify what seems to be major issues?!

This has been ongoing for me since yesterday - Steam account - PC.

Its kinda a shame that paying customers, who have bought the game, bought DLC and purchased all 4 season passes are not given priority server access over those who have got access to the game for free.

Bonjour depuis hier soir seulement , dès que je me connecte sur les serveurs en ligne , impossible de me connecter ( championnat perso )

Hello since yesterday evening only, as soon as I connect on the servers online, impossible to connect (personal championship)

This has nothing to do with 'priority server access', it's about the servers working properly for EVERYONE.

Latest: Things are generally looking stable now, though still a few players here and there having trouble connecting. The majority are getting in though.

Will this ever be sorted out for the long term? All I see is "we're monitoring it" and yes across time one expects activity to go down and things to become stable.

Why can other games have stable mp matches and DiRT can't even do stable singleplayer campaigns. This always online poop continues to be an obstacle.

Somehow i doubt that it works for most people now.

As for me, nothing works in My Team; Events, Garage, Staff, everything results in errors or time outs. Platform: PC, Region: Switzerland

For gods sake, please remove this stupid online requirement for career mode. If you are concerned about cheating in leaderboards, which is your official reasoning for this, let us create profiles that don't require constant online connection and don't show up in leader boards, and don't allow a switch back to online. It's a huge pain in the ass and i guess the vast majority of players isn't interested in competitive loaderboard racing anyway. The way you do it now slows downs the menus to a snails pace or even prevents the game from working at all, all that for no benefit whatsoever for the vast majority of players.

Took 45 minutes to finish a 4 stage rally due to service not being available, probably lost all progress too.
F this I'm going for a refund even though I've exceeded the 2 hours, most of it has been complete BS.

Lol, even the picture upload on this forum fails and had to retry...
