benmills6 1 Posted February 21 Hi all 🙂 1. I am experiencing crashing when playing f1 2020, happens most often during multiplayer but happens in all game modes. I can barely even complete a 5 lap lap race without crashing. 2. 1.16 - All my drivers are up to date too - 2700x, 16gb ( 8 x 2 no oc ) rtx 2060 1tb nvme m.2 with f1 2020 installed 3. All game modes but mostly online. 4. When playing single player the game will crash every 10 ish laps - when trying to play online it crashes that many times i can barely play online. 5. Never had this problem using intel. All my other games DxDiag.txtplay fine, just f1 2020. Happens every time i play the game 6 Yes i have. see attached files. Steam: https://steamcommunity.com/id/BenMills/ 7. BarryBL 4,579 Posted February 22 Can you add your in-game graphical settings too @benmills6. Should look like this (remember to turn Asynchronous Compute off)
benmills6 1 Posted February 22 Hi @BarryBL thanks for the response - my game crashed 3 times changing the settings! Maybe i have some settings turned on that i shouldn't, when i play the game there is no stuttering etc and i play with 90fps + thanks
steviejay69 1,204 Posted February 23 Maybe perform a DDU with the current driver set. Reinstall the driver with Internet disconnected. Delete the hardware_settings_config.xml file and verify Steam files before launch. Do not set anything in the Nvidia Control Panel, just modify the in-game settings to match @BarryBL
BarryBL 4,579 Posted February 23 As we have quite similar cards @benmills6, try copying my settings and see how you get on, and if stability is improved.
JanVan8ern 5 Posted February 25 @benmills6 Have you tried out DX11? My game always crashed randomly on DX12, since i switched to DX11 everything is fine.
benmills6 1 Posted February 26 Hi Guys! i lowered my graphics settings from ultra to medium and played a few online races which is progress... Later on i launched the game and my pc crashed, went back onto steam and it says f1 2020 has been uninstalled despite all files being there on a drive with 10+ games on which are being detected? Could i have a bad ssd by any chance?
BarryBL 4,579 Posted March 2 Try verifying your Steam files @benmills6 as that will sweep up any missing files etc.
benmills6 1 Posted March 2 I verified my steam files but I've had no luck 😕 Any other ideas? the game is still basically unplayable 😞 I verified my

BarryBL 4,579 Posted March 17 Also @benmills6, experiment with lower in-game settings, test stability. Then, try limiting FPS, test stability. For all machines and specs, there is a balance to be found between performance and stability. Lowering non-critical areas (mirrors, vehicle reflections for example) will be my first point of call. As a easier test, try turning them all down to Low and test stability. Should be much more stable. Then turn up the settings. All about balance.
