Thrustmaster Ts-pc Racer Ferrari 488 Not Working Advance mode

Recommended Posts

Hello Guys, I have a big problem.

Before the last update, my Thrustmaster Ts-pc Racer Ferrari 488 Challenge Edition, worked in Advanced mode without problems, but after the last update, it only works in normal mode, if I put the advance mode the force feeedback, it does not work. the steering wheel is as if it had turned off.

I've tried all the options that the game now shows, but none of them advancing mode works.

Can someone help me?
Because without the advanced mode, it is not possible to use all the configured buttons, and I cannot use all the features of the car, because in normal mode, some buttons are repeated, and instead of having 10 buttons in normal mode, we only have 7 and I use it in advanced mode just to be able to have more buttons, but without force feedback, it is very bad to play and make lives.

Thank you very much

I have the exact same wheel and am experiencing the same issue. Did not try using the wheel in "Normal" mode as that would not give us enough buttons to configure our options, as described by TS.

The problem is definitely caused by the latest game update as I've tried using the wheel with other driving simulators such as Euro Truck Simulator 2 and Assetto Corso and the wheel with force feedback works as per normal in those games. In Update 1.16, it was fine. After Update 1.17, FFB suddenly stopped working completely. Everything else works, steering, pedals, programmed buttons, paddle shifts, and RPM LEDS. All except FFB.

Hi,

I recently purchased a Thrustmaster TS-PC 488 Ferrari Challenge edition FFB wheel for use with F1 2020.

In Normal mode, everything works great. FFB is fine, no issues.

But when I switch to Advanced mode on the wheel, which opens up the additional programmable button functions, the FFB stops working.

I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling drivers, and deleting old joystick registry entries, to no effect. Firmware and drivers are current.

Nothing in the game indicates an issue. It recognizes the Advanced mode, even forcing a new control scheme when it is active.

When I change back to Normal mode, the control scheme reverts to its previous setting, as it should.

Edit: It appears the issue was also reported by someone else here.

These should both be posted as proper bug reports.

Delete your custom control schemes and verify Steam files.

If either of you could post more technical feedback it would be helpful.

Update your wheels and drivers.

is it possible to go back to version 1.16?
at least there we can use our steering wheel

If you have the update 1.16 patch saved on your system then you should be able to delete the game that has 1.17 installed  off your drive  then reinstall the original copy of the game without patches and then download patch 1.16 to it ( I would have thought) but Its an idea,  I have not tried this on a PC.

Unfortunately it is not that easy, Steam auto patches the game. There is no way to reinstall 1.16 unless you have a Steam backup at that build and turn off auto updating before you restore the backup.

The next issue is that Steam autosaves (if enabled) may be saved with 1.17 saves. Plus online won't work unless the game versions are the same. That's the 'off the top of my head' issues.

1.       Loss of FFB and tacho LEDs in advanced mode. Works in normal mode
2.       1.17
3.       Any mode
4.       Self explainatory
5.       Self explainatory
6.       Reinstall of the wheel, reinstall of the game, googling this issue found a fix for g29 wheel with a solution that requires changing values with regedit. Deleting files in ..\My Games\F1 2020\hardwaresettings
7.       TS-PC Racer, T-LCM pedals
8.       Unnecessary

Dxdiag attached.

Thank you!

So far nothing has been resolved.

Sorry for the post, but it is something simple to solve.

The problem was caused in UPDATE 1.17, some steering wheel acceptance settings were clearly added or removed, it is necessary to UNDO this, so that the operation will return.

it is INADMISSIBLE to spend money on a game, and it simply stops working essential in an update, and we already have almost 1 month of reposrt of the problem.

I am a systems programmer, and I understand that an update can fail, but it takes 1 month to fix something that:

1 - we already know where the problem is - Thrustmaster Ts-pc Racer Ferrari 488 Challenge Edition

2 - already know what causes the problem - Activate the advanced mode, turn off the FFB

3 - we already have several users reporting the same problem.

It is necessary to undo what was done in this update, return the parameters to make things work, identify the error and only AFTER releasing a new update.

Having a steering wheel that is not cheap, and not being able to use it is something that cannot happen in a game that is not cheap.

And the problem is already clearly related to the update, since in all other games it works normally.

And several DXDiag from more than one person have already been sent, where it is possible to see that it is not a problem with windows or the steering wheel.

I ask you not to ignore this problem, just because the F1 2021 is coming soon, as confidence is something that takes time to conquer, but losing is quick.

My Thrustmaster TS-PC wheel does not get enough rotation in tight turns.  In-game settings are Wheel Saturation 51 (tried 0 it was worse), with the slider showing 100% lock with wheel turned at 90 degrees, but it seems that the last 30% of rotation only turns the car a little, not all the way to lock in the game.  I've dropped my Thrustmaster control panel setting to a ridiculous 260 degrees, and that doesn't even help.  This wheel works perfectly in Assetto Corsa, Automobilista 2, and every other car game with the control panel set to 900.

I really enjoy playing F1 2020, but with the steering like this, It feels very unnatural, and I cannot drive as fast as I want, needless to say.  I'm still in the first season of My Team with the Renault.

Can anyone help, please?

Thank You,

Scrench

I think I already know what happened.

Today they launched a new steering wheel, and it has a display that is 100% compatible with the game, I believe that Codemaster, updated the system already for this new wheel, and forgot to check if ours worked in this update (something that a company of this size cannot do)

when looking at the manual for the new wheel, it says that the TS-PC-RACER needs to have firmware 12, we have 11.

I think the codemaster received the ts + new wheel kit, with the new firmware, made the updates, and our steering wheel with the old firmaware stopped.

I still haven't been able to download the firmware egg to be able to verify that this is the case, but I think the chance is great.

Meanwhile, we were left with a paper weight of 1000 dollars stopped.

Thanks Codemaster

Solved the problem

Download the driver + FFB from the codemaster website, on the TS-PC RACER or on their new F2020 wheel.

https://ts.thrustmaster.com/download/pub/webupdate/T500RS/2021_TTRS_1.exe

uninstall the current one, install it again, restart the pc.

Go to the windows search and type FIRMWARE, open the app and there is an update for 12.

Install, turn OFF the USB steering wheel, reconnect, update the WHEEL now

Then just enter the game and we can have fun again.

I do that and i don’t have any ffb in advanced mode.

Through the power of facebook I had just seen the message about the SF1000 wheel reveal. And indeed, I did notice new drivers.

And here for ease of finding are the release notes covering drivers and firmware back to 2017 (it details which wheels were fixed and when).

Notes regarding the FERRARI F1 racing wheel:
- On PC, the Ferrari F1 racing wheel is recognized and appears onscreen under the name Thrustmaster T-GT Racing Wheel or TS-XW RACER (USB)
or TS-PC RACER or Thrustmaster T500 RS Racing Wheel, Thrustmaster TX Racing wheel, or Thrustmaster T300 RS Racing Wheel.
This is the “Normal Modeâ€, offering 13 action buttons + D-Pad (in this mode, the D-Pads, shifters and L3/R3 buttons are combined).
In this mode, the 2 rotary encoders emulate the D-Pad's 4 main directions. They can therefore be used to alter a car's settings (engines, tires, fairing, etc.).
To use them, if required, access your game's Control options and alter them as required.
- On PC (only), the racing wheel can be configured in “Advanced Mode†to offer 25 action buttons + 1 D-Pad
(in this mode, the 2 rotary encoders, 2 D-Pads, 4 shifters and 4 L3/R3 buttons are configured individually). To do so, in the Control Panel, select the Advanced Mode option.
The racing wheel appears onscreen under the name Ferrari F1 Wheel Advanced T-GT or Ferrari F1 Wheel Advanced TS-XW Racer
or Ferrari F1 Wheel Advanced TS-PC Racer or Ferrari F1 wheel Integral T500 or Ferrari F1 wheel Advanced TX or Ferrari F1 wheel Advanced T300.

General comments:
- For most games (e.g.: GTRâ„¢, rFactorâ„¢, iRacingâ„¢): in the OPTIONS/CONTROLS/FORCE FEEDBACK settings, Force Feedback effects must be set to “POSITIVE = + Values†or “NON-REVERSEDâ€.
