Engine overheating issue on PS4 [with Video]

I've just sat on the grid at max revs and started the race green and stayed green throughout again. Auto gears, 5 consecutive laps rich mix
So this means something with my game is wrong somehow. Thanks Codemasters. Gotta drive on lean the whole time now, which makes me 3 secs slower.

It can't be your game. On ps4 we all have the same software and game. Like I said try a smoother style and less aggressive on the throttle.let us know how you go on.

Wow, I just used my second controller because the batteries of my main one were empty and suddenly everything is fine with my engine, doesn't matter how agressive I drive. What the heck? How does the controller make a difference??

Your driving style is very aggressive. Flying over the grass and hitting other cars. You're slamming down on the throttle. Your driving needs to be much smoother as you're constantly on the limiter, that's why your engine is hot all the time.
I agree, but I didn't have a problem till today.

the first thing you need to do is use manual gears
Im not that much into the game so I think thats too complicated for me, especially since I use the PS4 controller.

on the start don't  hold down the throttle for the full duration of the lights to start the race.
Yeah, but that cant be the reason since its not only at the start.

after the start it gets hot for other reasons like being behind a car and over revving on gear changes..The reason it is getting hot so soon at the start is you over revving your engine while waiting for the lights.During the race your over revving on gear changing.

I dont change gears manually. Here, in this video, I drove in practice and the same happened:

 umm, damaged engine maybe?
Cant be reason since I tried it multiple time

You mentioned you hadn't noticed it previously. Note that as part of the fix for the fuel mix they altered the way the engine behaves in traffic, clear air and constantly hitting the throttle.

Guys this is a bug.. I did SPA in my championship season yesterday, and I did a realistic qualifying by going out on outlaps and the engine was consistently overheating, turning red, even though I was at higher gears and lower revs, 8th gear and 94 mph.... It looks like it is a bug. Problem is: Is it true? Or just a coloring bug? I haven't noticed any difference in the performance... Later when I went normally, a normal qualifying lap, it went back to green...

Ok I let my controller run down to one bar and go out in Practice. A lot of the lap was orange and yellow, some overheating. This was in standard engine mode, in rich it was green the whole lap. Charging my controller now and will report back later.
