Driving longer with tyres

Recommended Posts

So, does anyone have tips so that my tyres wont get damaged as fast as now? I often have to make a stop more than the AI and at the end of my stints the tyres are useless. How can I reduce it? You got any tips? First thing I want to try is to drive smoother, but so far I didn't have more success with it.

Do you drive with a wheel or with a pad? I noticed on the pad ( PS4) that when you load up the tyres too much in fast corners the controller vibrates, meaning they could be heating up too much. The thing that works for me for the front tyres is slow down a little bit in the fast corners, be smooth with the steering; apply a bit less steering angle so you don't feel the rumble. This stops the tyres from overheating and usually gives me a couple of laps extra on them. For the rear tyres be gentle out of the corner exits, try to shortshift if you use manual gears and gradually apply the throttle coming out of corners,  this reduces wheelspin. Hope this helped! :)

Yeah, thank you. I use a pad and I drive automatic because I think manual is too hard for me.

You can also try experimenting with different car setups... every setup is a compromise, and one of the things you compromise is tyre wear.

For example, lower downforce will give you higher straight line speed, but the car will be more likely to slide around in corners, which will wear your tyres quicker. Likewise, increasing the toe and camber angles on the front wheels will help you turn in to corners, but increase tyre wear because less of the rubber is in contact with the road. Setting the tyre pressure lower or higher can also improve some handling characteristics, but wear the tyre more quickly.

The right setup for you will vary depending on the car you're driving, the mix of straights, fast and slow corners on the track you're racing on, and your preferred driving style.

First you should drive with pad and manually gearbox, to be able to make short shift after the corners...than you need to change  the fuel flow within one round for 3-5 times.. depends from the track. .. In slow corners where you need most traction you should use lean mix, after slow corners on the straight change  to high fuel mix . Etc etc..
And of course you need to change braking balance depending from the corner.. if you have very tight corner use back-breakes.. if you have faster corners usemail balanced breakes..

Im not good enough on this game so manually shifting is no option for me, this is my first F1 since 2011, lol.
Tried driving smoother with throttle and steering and it has been better so far. On fuel flow, I change it probably 2-3 times a lap but more is not possible since you always have to press the buttons three times.

Ye's I asked CM to make the menu faster, in last games it was much faster and it was possible to change fuel flow within 0, 2 seconds...
Now you need2 seconds...
