Depends on how you drive with manual gears.

Yeah, the thread's a bit old, but... meh.

I normally put in an extra lap's worth of fuel to be sure.  F1 2017 always seems to under-fuel no matter what I do in the practice sessions.
yeah I usually start with at least 2 extra laps.

I believe so because once I ran out of fuel. Usually, the car is filled with a lesser amount of fuel when compared to the number of laps. Since I ran out of fuel, I add about 1.5 to 2 kgs of fuel to be on the safer side. I'm at Monza & this is the 1st time I underwent the fuel save programme. So I'm assuming in the race I'll get the right amount of fuel that was interpreted during the programme.

Does anyone change the fuel mixture to lean when entering the pits? It looks as if the fuel gets consumed a lot due to the car being on 1 gear with good revs.

I suggest moving to manual gears as you can short shift a lot more and I don’t think lean revs makes a difference when In the pit lane.

You can also use the pedals for short shifting in automatic mode to safe a bit fuel.
My concern is the fuel saving program is nice but the wrong way to calculate the fuel load for race. It should be calculated in accordance to the racing program, because thats the way you are driving at race.
Has anyone ever tried if there is a tactical part for taking lesser fuel and driving more with lift and coast plus lean mix or taking plus four laps fuel and driving more in rich mix?
All what i have seen on youtube is taking a lot more fuel and driving mostly in rich mix. This makes the fuel saving program and calculation of race fuel totally senseless.

I see the change easily on PS4, if you press the right d-pad button or circle you get the current mix and whatever the load is for fuel, you'll see there how fast or slow it goes down when changing mixtures.
Personally though I prefer a higher load, I'm a bit heavy footed ;) Or at least no good at coasting efficiently..

No, I didn't think so.  So wind your neck in.
Well that was an angry response... I don't think I have to be a moderator to tell you a fact...
The thread was a question and it was answered in 2015. In that case no one should be here anymore. If someone would face the same problem, it would just be much better to make a new thread.
He's a pretty agitated member of this forum. I wouldn't worry about it too much.
I don’t think it’s possible to adjust your just full before the race. The creators could done this better.
If you caught up in the midd-field en you want to drive faster you set the full on ‘standard’. But if you can’t finish the race with this you will have to set the full on ‘lean’ and that is a shame. It prevent you from ending higher in the end of the race

Lmao never even noticed that date.. I should check more closely, though I had noticed it was answered at least..

gijs34 at the start of the race on the grid formation you have the option to change pit stop strategy, just below that you can change the fuel amount (PS4 at least anyway).
