Logitech Driving Force GT - Recommended FFB Settings

Pointless? Why?
If game changes we will search again for new settings, but meanwhile we need to get decent settings to play.
I guess if you have the time fair enough but to me it seems kinda pointless working on something that about to change anyway. Just perspective I guess

i got setting like in links above, and i can not feel any lock... tell me everything is fine and i'll just keep playing :P

but frankly i'm not sure about 900 degree, subaru from a group feels so much different from 540, maybe it's just matter of practice
Avoid to create a profile in profiler.

change settings directly in global driver seetings.

Profile for dirt Rally dont work anymore for me since a while ago.

hahahaha, i read that most of WRC cars have 540 degree and it was my starting point, i never tried any lower to be honest... but 900 is too much at least for now.
I'm thinking about taking it in steps, like from 540 which i'm used to to 720* and after over hundred of stages maybe attack 900 degree again and see what'll happen :)

I dunno if it's a good tactic, but it's worth a shot
i don't wanna make fun of anyone, i'm just curious.

if you came to a hairpin with 900°  how many rounds must you give the wheel?
It may depend of the car but I do not use to turn more than a half wheel turn in any case (180º of 900º).
You need to perfect dosifing the throtle and you will be fine.
Even on hairpins I usually dont turn more than 180º counter or normal steering. Its all in making an angle by power over and handbrake. When you get the desired angle you need to sustain it.

Some time a heavy oversteer overcomes and you need to perform a inst 360º turn in some direction but once you get used to it, its OK dont feel sailing a boat anymore. After all is what rally drivers did always.

Do you start profiler at all, or do you make changes from cobtrol panel-> etc.? If so, do you leave it on the background? If so, do you start game from the profiler? (Probably not if you don't use prodile for dirt rally.

I have to try this. I wonder that does it have anything to do also with stutter and fps drops also.

To whom this questions are for?

In Logitech Profiler (let's call it this name, it won't be confusing) i don't have any profiles. Every single time im mounting wheel to desk, plug pedals and power, then usb to pc, after that I'm launching Logitech Profiler, and if necesarry i make adjustments before I start a game. During gameplay i dont use alt+tab or stuff like that and I do not change any Logitech Profiler settings mid-game.

I'll get rid of profiles in dirt rally vibration&feedback tab and see what happens.

Profiler must stay in background in order to send Dirt Rally (and other games) the driver configuration:
Overall strenght, degrees of rotation, spring, damper... etc

I dont start dirt Rally from profiler, it does not take the profile settings neither global settings.

But if I start DR from desktop shortcut or steam it takes the Profiler global settings.

BTW, you can make live changes in profiler using alt+tab, In fact, is the best way to test different configs.

Would any have ideas why my wheel goes and wants to go from left, right, left, rigth even in straigths? It seems to be connected to SAT..? It is really frustrating  :(

Using Ozorexs newest settings

Well seems like now its a bit too hard with my latest setings.

The keys to achieve a good config now are:
- Tweak SAT again (I think it will be good around 100)
- Find a good tyre friction, maybe no mere than 30

I need to drive a lot more with all kind of cars.

@Vranq, I get all steering locks correctly. Yesterday I tried i20 and Polo, both uses 540º. As always using soft lock.

@TuliRally, the will always will try to go left/right if you want some effects on board. You need to holt it firmly. Differentials and SAT always pulls to sides.

Thank you again for your answers @OzoreXS
I will try to tweak SAT and Tyre friction. Do you think there is changes needed in Logitech Profiler?

Btw hearing that left/right movement is normal takes a weight from my shoulders away.

I do still have that propblem were after 5 mins of playing my frames rate starts to drop and wheel responsiveness goes worse. And it also introduces a more prominent left/right movement.
This is probably related to more complex problems

Indeed, seems like you are suffering heavy input lag. You will notice if you are under lag if set the cockpit cam and when you move your wheel, the wheel in car moves with siome delay.

If you have a nvidia GFX card try this using nvidia inspector:

1) Lock FPS at 58 (guessing your monitor is running 60Hz). Reduce some GFX details in game and try v-sync on and off to see what match better.
2) Set maximum pre-rendered frames at 1

This should hep you a lot.

PS.: I´m still running with the las config and I feel the comfortable. The only thing I reduced was tyre friction to 30.

Thanks @OzoreXS . I unfortunetly have an AMD card.

Have you or anybody else noticed that Lancia 037 has a really light steering even when Stratos feel good. Is there a specific reason for that, conserning it has mid-engine placement or some other reason.
I have found a really good settings (FFB) for other cars, and for even for 037, but problem is that these settings are so different with each other and i can't find compromise between them that would work.

I am now in the process of learning about car setups if that would help. For the time being i will make couple of ffb setups. Atleast for 037 and rest, maybe even for tarmac and gravel.

Hey fellas now that Dirt Rally has workshop support, I think it would be great if someone could upload these fantastic ffb settings to the workshop and make it easy for everyone.

Don't you ever say unfortunatly and AMD card in one sentence, only if there is a not in between! ;)
Get the new Crimson edition driver software from AMD, you will be able to set this framerate lock directly in the AMD software.

Haha, i must say that after changing to amd card, i have no regrets yet!

Thanks for that Crimson edition driver tip. I will check it out!

BTW, back to the subject. I have couple of friends that have driving experience and with them i am trying to find those "perfect" settings.
I am also making different settings for almost each car class

i also have this totally different setting in test that makes use of center spring and uses less SAT. It feels quite natural in premilinary testing. I will report more soon..

@ OzoreXS:  Did you manage to upload the FFB settings to steam workshop yet?  I'd be keen to try out your profile in the game.  Please let me know.

thanks

First of all thanks to everybody who contributed to this thread. I just got my DFGT and tried these settings and well, this is what happens. It literally makes the game unplayable as I'm fighting the wheel non stop. Is my wheel faulty or something? That doesn't feel realistic at all

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=760jSdut5Ig

Using other configs like this one and it doesn't happen at all  http://www.racedepartment.com/threads/real-rally-drivers-g25-27-ffb-settings.116089/

Sorry about the potato quality
