AI are really stupid...

Recommended Posts

so im driving as Seb in the ferrari and my teammate kimi comes out of the pits (hes about to be lapped as he was caught in quite a few incidents during the race) and on the exit of turn one he just completely brake checks me... and i was doing a 100% race which was a little over half done so i just completely wasted my time with that race... and earlier on ricciardo hit kimi and i watched it in the flash back replay and ricciardo had so much time to brake, literally like 3 seconds just to get on the brakes, and he didnt even get on the brakes, his speed didnt go down until he hit raikkonen.

anyways heres the video of raikkonen brake checking me.

Looks to me more like he was struggling for grip exiting the pits on fresh tyres, and you just ran into him in the middle of the corner...
I'm not saying the AI hasn't got a lot of problems, but this incident wasn't the AI's fault.
What is he supposed to do? Swerve out of the way, right in the middle of the corner on cold tyres, and crash out?

if you watch the whole video you see him gain speed, he was gaining speed quickly and then lost it even quicker which was him braking, he was a backmarker at the time so he tried letting me through but instead he just ended my race

and at the end it shows raikkonen with a penalty for illegal blocking

I don't have a problem with people questioning the AI but it wasn't only at fault. The pit exit at Australia is always a problem (not the only circuit). You could clearly see him exiting the pits and holding the inside line and you weren't willing to slow down or lose any time to ensure an accident didn't happen.

Referencing the penalty system is fairly meaningless due to its shortcomings.

if you watch it again after the turn, theres a moment where im just narrowly catching up to him which is why im more to the right of the track then i normally would be so i could possibly go around his outside but he all of sudden loses a lot of speed and i end up clipping his rear tyre, theres no way i closed the gap that quickly without him hitting the brakes and the speed he lost was not due to him losing traction, you dont lose speed that quickly unless you brake

@SwearImSober

I don't disagree his braking was a bit sudden but that same issue on that exact corner has been in all previous CM Formula 1 games (I used to just do 25% quick races on Australia/Canada in previous titles). Maybe I'm being a bit harsh because I'm used to it.

Oh, well I didn't know ai had a tendency to do that, that's why I was so surprised with it happening

Also f1 2014 was the first f1 game I played so I'm still pretty new to CM games

Well how about AI crossing the white line to pass me on exiting the pits? They mainly try to push me out though. Quite entertaining really.

You hit a car behind, it's your fault. The penalty should be given to you.
let's stop giving faults that do not exist.
