PSK023
I have exactly the same issue. As a workaround you could download the PS4 version. It does work in that version on PS5 (as does voice control do!)
ImmOo
Same issue also with me. With that workaround using ps4 version it works, wheel is detected and calibrated instantly and in the definitions more wheels appear on the list to be chosen. The same doesnt occur on ps5, just the wireless controller. Lets hope this is fixed :(
JeffLais
Hi Guys, it's normal as the T500 base is not compatible with PS5 Games = you can use the T500 on PS5 but only with PS4 Games. Only these Thrustmaster Bases are compatible with PS5 Games : T-GT / T300 / T150 / T80.
jblender
Okay but that is ******* weird that the new version t500 is not compatible en t300 does. It was sold to me that the t500 also would work on the ps5 . Not very happy why else a ps5 if you can not live the full experiance of it . But thnx for the feedback
JeffLais
Only official PS4 wheels can works with PS5 games: https://www.bsimracing.com/thrustmaster-wheels-ps5-and-xbox-series-x-compatibility-confirmed/ T500 is very old and is a PS3 official wheel (not official PS4 and so not works on PS5 games).
PSK023
It is true that the T500 is old, but it's clearly stated that it's a supported wheel on PS5... No mention that it doesn't work with the PS5 version: F1® 2021 | Supported Wheels and Controllers - F1® 2021 Game Forum - Codemasters Community Kinda misleading.
jblender
Indeed it calibrates Just fine with the ps5 when i start the game it doesnt. With otter games no problem . Very strange
gigiotto59
Few months ago Thrustmaster said that T500 was not compatible with the next gen console, the only steering wheel working on PS5 were T300RS and F1 addon, T150, T80 and T'GT. It is possible that in the future an update can be released.
Strgo
Hi guys, is someone try upgrade t500 with new firmware ver.47 (it's new) availeble on Thrustmaster site ? Maybe then the wheel will work on PS5 ? Edited July 27, 2021 by Strgo
jblender
New version is on it. Weird thing is it works with the ps5 . It calibrates but only with the game f1 2021 ps5 version not. So its not The ps5 its the ps5version of f1 2021
sbEdge
Yeah, it seems like the Ps5 version of the game doesn't recognize the wheel. Even though it is listed as a compatible wheel. I've also reported this and had no response. Hopefully they sort it out. Otherwise I just bought a Ps5 for nothing.
PSK023
Running firmware v47 too, without any luck. Still no confirmation from ea/codemasters that this is by design for the PS5 version of F1 2021.
zTAR1
answers on that @BarryBL ?
Administrator BarryBL Posted July 29, 2021 Administrator Share Posted July 29, 2021 This is also on PS5. Have you updated firmware via your PC, and the correct method?

julianf694
Any news about an update for T500 wheel ? I'm very disappointed that i can't play to F1 2021 with my T500 on my PS5. I'm thinking to resell my game, for me it's impossible to play with the wireless controller

jblender
Its not the fault of thrustmaster, it works on the ps5 but only the game f1 2021 doenst accept it, the ps4 version on the ps5 does . So codemasters ****** up and need to change it so whe can play the ps5 version on the ps5 like its ment to
MCDC08
Please Codematers, fix this. It is also happening with the Dirt 5 that was given with PlayStation Plus on January 2022. The PS4 version on the PS5 works fine with the T500, but the PS5 version don't. This makes no sense.
cearp8858
is the t500 officially supported by the ps5? what i mean by this is it worked on the ps4 and works on the ps5 with the ps4 version as its emulating a ps4 t500 is also not listed under ps5 only ps4 so i will say t500 isnt supported on ps5 playing the native ps5 version of f1 2021, but will work on ps5 with the ps4 version as it is emulating a ps4 to do this and so will be supported thsi isnt a codemasters issue this is thrustmaster not wanting to get the t500 licenced by sony and have it supported on ps5 nativly, the t500 is a old wheelbase now released in 2010 and is basically replaced by the T-GT 1/2 https://www.bsimracing.com/thrustmaster-wheels-ps5-and-xbox-series-x-compatibility-confirmed/ Edited January 12 by cearp8858
