Codies Gone Quiet

Right here, met with the team today, just need to digest the info before posting, rather than rambling.

There was a patch a week ago. Maybe not for the platform you care about, but they've hardly gone AWOL.
They may not have gone AWAL and they may have published a patch last week, but I think racers are probably more interested in news as to when (on any platform) Codemasters will give us a patch of real substance, one that really takes a bite out of the bugs and issues in this game so that we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. So far, all we keep getting is that they are aware of this that and the other and I will talk to "the team" but can't make any promises.

Lets have some genuine commitments for a change and less of the stick handling around the problems they know darn well are there and need fixing.

You're free to come here and complain, but insulting anyone is not acceptable.

As for answering questions, I've been involved in F1 2015 for four days. I'm not going to lie to you or bull**** you, so if I don't know something (which is most things still), then there isn't much I can say. When I have answers, which I'm making an effort to get, I will provide them.

EDIT: For those that don't know them, the forum rules are here - http://forums.codemasters.com/discussion/7/forum-rules#latest

£50 for a game that doesn't work and looks like it was designed by a 5 year old!
And you sound like one...
With that response? Pot, kettle, black...?
Well I'm sure you're enjoying the game! Easily pleased, simple minds, simple things etc..
Kindly move on because it's people like you with your head in the sand, who thinks this game is of good standard, that make Codemasters believe they're doing a good job.
That this game is acceptable!
With attitudes like that, it'll be déjà vu on here for 2016..

As for me, my game doesn't work. As you can see in my video!
I'm a disgruntled customer looking for an explanation.
If I can't complain here? Where can I complain?
How would you feel @Woozie77 if you had this issue?
mate, i understand your frustration to some point, F1 2015 is far from being bug free, even though they got rid of some of the most annoying ones already (while introducing new issues). However, constant complaining about the same things over and over again isnt really constructive. Especially if mixed with insults and exaggeration. I'm not a fanboy at all (too old for this shite) but calling F1 2015 the worst game ever created by CM is utter nonsense, imho.

And you can safely assume that, by now,  CM is very well aware that they might have dropped the ball (again) in terms of QA. They seem to work hard on fixing the issues and even though i don't know these guys personally, i'm pretty sure that most of them are working on their personal dream project and they all want F1 2015 to be a great game. Calling them 'useless idiots' or whatever doesnt really help at all, and just imagine you would be one of them....

BTW, (referring to your other, already closed posting) a coder, graphics, physics or audio fx guy doesnt get rich by creating games....its the people way up in hierarchy who get rich.... (WAAAAYYY up)

and @Dnote ...thanks for your effort man, i guess most in here really appreciate the new level of communication and it feels like it has improved already (justbiglee mentioned some upcoming changes on how CM is going to handle the community stuff going forward).

It appears that now even the devs themselves reply to forum posts directly, according to their area of responsibility. Same seems to happen in the Dirt Forums. Really appreciate that, way to go!

thx

seems to be a cycle...
-f12015 released
-bugs everywhere
-patch released to fix SOME bugs, other bugs created
-community manager says 'I'll fix it, but I'm only a community manager passing on messages'
-community manager leaves role at CM.
-users have no one to answer their questions
-community manager from DIRT comes to help, can't provide exact answers
-patch released. fixes SOME bugs, makes more bugs
-users complain about poor patching
-community manager says he's passed info on to the 'team'
-community manager leaves role at CM.
-users have no one to answer their questions.
-an actually game dev (!) comes to answer questions and provide insight into the game. Users happy but frustrated.
-game dev goes quiet on forums
-product manager from the publishing team comes to help, can't provide exact answer as has little knowledge on what's been going on with F12015
-no xbox patch for a LONG time, no PS4 patch for almost a month
-product manager says 'soon...'

So, have you digested the info yet?

Edit: And how about this one ( your post re: wheel problems)

prediction based on previous events:

- @Dnote says he isn't the one to answer technical questions but will pass info on to the team
-FINAL patch release for XboxOne, PS4, PC
-Lots of bugs finally fixed, however new ones created which although small, ruin the game (wet weather visuals suddenly disappear, coloured stripes on tyres don't reflect the current compound, new crashes on PC... etc.)
-dnote says it's because of the new EGO engine
-dnote leaves role at Codemasters...
-Codies go quiet for a few weeks
- @Lozzy comes on to say F12015 work has stopped and the team are now focusing on a 'new look, newly improved' F12016.
-Lozzy leaves role at Codemasters...

@Dnote Here is the last bolded section of my most recent post on 2015 issues. This post not only outlines the specific problem I am having with my G27 "Steering" wheel, but also makes reference to the issues with controllers in general with this game.

Issues with F1 2015 on my PC and G27 wheel:

a) Since day one FF has been inconsistent and very disappointing.

b) Since Patch 20/07/15, I have to reconfirm my pedal axis's in the setup menu at the start of my first session, or the pedal sensitivity is extreme, causing constant brake lock ups and throttle spikes.

c) Controller interface in general is inconsistent i.e. Sometimes have to make new custom setup and the adjustments (linearity, etc) do not seem to offer much in game effect. There appears from the Threads/Posts in both forums, that different people are having different problems on different controllers. Has CM investigated to see if there is a common denominator causing these issues?

From your response to me on this subject in another post, I can only assume that mine and other peoples problems in this area have once again fallen through the cracks.

you don't have to be an expert in coding, programming or game design to sit and count the number of threads/ posts in this and the Tech Assist forum (including the bug reporting threads), to realize that there are unresolved controller problems outstanding. There are seven on the front page of the TA forum ( five for wheels).

instead of blaming me for being unspecific for not including the word "steering" in my request, if you could take the time to read the bug reports that I and many other customers have taken the trouble to compile, maybe, just maybe you will encourage people such as myself to be a little less skeptical of  your responses to our concerns.

Will raise this with the team when I get in tomorrow and give you an answer as soon as I can, good or bad.

The damage has been done no one is playing the game now and even when it is fixed there is no fan base for it, but codemaster has got our money so lets roll on to 2016 and get done over for the 6th time...

Okay, I've had a response from the team,

a) If you could elaborate on this, they believe that FF is working pretty good across the supported devices

b) They've been unable to reproduce this internally, without being able to reproduce it there is no way for them to identify the problem and fix it.

c) As with b, they've been unable to reproduce this. Where we have the specific controllers to hand, they've tried to replicate issues raised in the forum and have fixed what they can. This will obviously continue on, but without reproduction they can't do anything with it.

Thanks for getting back to me. As for the FFB, to elaborate, i have put my enviro setting up to 100% and still only raised curb type rumble strips give me a kick/vibration, many of them i do not even get a vibration that you should feel from a rumble strip at high speed especially, and I never feel anything from the track surface itself. I have to go onto the grass or gravel or collide wheel to wheel or into the barrier to get a rise out of my wheel. I do however feel front lock ups.

regarding my pedal and throttle problems, I have just finished a new build and have got my O/S (W7) installed. In the middle of stress testing my OC and I will be reinstalling steam and re downloading F1 2015. Who knows, maybe I'll lose that bug.

perhaps the promise of better communication has a glitch or bug in the wording! or maybe it's a new feature they'll include for next year!
