PS4 - Patch Notes 23/09/15

Hi,

Update: Patch is now live and the notes are confirmed.

Here are the preliminary patch notes for the next PS4 patch, this has been submitted to Sony Europe and Sony America (Japan will follow shortly afterwards as our partner there handles submissions).

PS4 – v1.04

  • Fixed some cars not being shown a blue flag when being lapped
  • Fixed incorrect speech being played on the results screen
  • Fixed some instances of cars getting stuck in the pit lane
  • Fixed steering wheel being at the incorrect angle when entering the pit lane
  • Fixed AI wing damage not being repaired after pitting during qualifying session
  • Fixed AI always pitting on the same lap as their team mate
  • Fixed the AI not using DRS and running lean fuel mix for the first two sectors in One-Shot Qualifying sessions.
  • Fixed an issue which caused the AI to run in to the back of other cars.
  • Fixed an issue which caused the AI to pit too frequently in some circumstances.
  • Fixed an issue which caused the AI to pit because of cosmetic front wing damage or for damage to a wheel hub neither of which actually affected performance
  • Fixed instances of the race strategy not always updating
  • Fixed some computational errors in the race strategy system
  • Fixed various errors with the damage, fuel and temperature swipe
  • Removed cars that are not present in Qualifying 2 and 3 from the mini-map.
  • Fixed McLaren 2015 car’s gear paddles glowing orange under braking
  • Fixed game resuming instantly when backing out of replay
  • Fixed Logitech G29 brake pedal not having full range
  • Unlocked Advanced Wheel Settings for all controllers
  • Fixed car setups not being loaded at the start of a race
  • Added ability to delete car setups


  • Added push to talk functionality for voice comms
  • Added notifications for players retiring during a multiplayer session
  • Fixed grid order being incorrect after one-shot qualifying session if players had invalidated their lap times
  • Fixed players with invalidated lap times being shown as in 1st place during one shot qualifying sessions
  • Fixed the countdown timer in hoppers so it always starts at 60 seconds in between sessions
  • Reconfigured hoppers to give one hopper per difficulty setting 
  • Various other bug fixes and improvements

Looks good can't wait for it to go live. With the incorrect commentery bug on the results screen being fixed with that be fixed in my current championship season or would you need to start a new one?

Minor things under the hood, each one separately isn't anything you could call out but the overall effects should be positive.

Are the speed issues fixed?
AI was always much faster on the straight, even if I drove Mercedes against Marussia
Good question ! As before CM won't react on any of our question. Like usual they post summary of "their work" and don't give further feedback. I personally hope that this is fixed but I'm not too confident..... This game will never be as it should ! :'(

@Dnote no fix for lack of deadzone on PS4 dualshock controller? At the moment brake is either 0 or 100% for me
Probably not if they aren't listed, but will confirm with dev.

As above, AI is a more complex beast to deal with, will follow up with the dev team.

Is this included in the various fixes? Lozzie said the cause was found so I really hope it's in so we can finally complete races properly whilst using the t300, a supported wheel after all.

Before the patch it was a challenge to get a Toro Rosso in the top 10 with legend AI, now I always qualify first or second because the AI are doing qualy laps that are about a second or two slower than their race pace.. This completely takes the fun out of Championship Season for me because every race you start at the front and just drop back during the races again

What's the point of fixing the other bugs if the majority of people playing your game on PS4 still have no more than the most rudimentary ability to go left or right, something that wasn't even broken to begin with until your last shambolic attempt at a patch?

Do you or your development team not understand that everything else is meaningless if people can't even interface with the game? It's akin to you selling a PC operating system which only works when used with a device other than a mouse.

If this fault, which you introduced, hasn't been corrected in this patch please explain why it wasn't considered of high enough importance.

Oh no, I was about to buy this wheel as others has said they had very good experiences using the T300RS on PS4. What issues do you come across?

I'm guessing full practice sessions in quick race mode doesn't come under this?

How many times do we have to ask???

I see you have mentioned the AI being in a certain fuel mix on one shot qualy. I don't think you have noticed that the AI don't use certain fuel mixes when they should. I've followed them through all qualys and they use standard mix all the time. They are always slower in qualy compared to race. This needs checked with the dev team. Thanks for updating us with the patch information. Any ideas how long it will be before Sony release it to consoles ?

seriously? this was one of the major things pointed out and I swear you or @Lozzy said a few weeks ago it was being fixed. This affects ALL PS4 dual shock users! how can it not be included in the patch? The bug was introduced in the last patch btw. @Dnote

@Dnote Hi mate, one of the major issues is the freezing bug that has plagued wheel users. There is no specific mention on the list to this fix. Can you please confirm whether or not this has been added to the patch? Cheers

@Lozzy We previously discussed the issues that were identified affecting wheel users that causes the game to freeze randomly. Has the reason been identified yet and more importantly is it in this patch as this is one of the most annoying bugs the game has. Cheers
