DiRT Rally - Found a Flying Finland Bug? Post it here!

My T300RS wheel is listed as a controller, but when I click on it I only get gamepad control options - no wheel calibration or anything like that. 

I completely deleted the game and removed my docs and downloaded/installed again from Steam and the problem persists. 

I can change the direct input to wheel but it's awful in game. 

It all worked ok up to and including the rallycross patch, although I've not played since the last minor patch. 

Would be grateful for ideas for a fix as I'm really looking forward to trying the Finnish stages.

You use shifter + to handbrake, just like me!  :)

But you are not using the pads/buttons at the back ot the wheel? seems like you change gear with L3 & R3. I have to give a try to that.
If only we could map the gears on BOTH pair of buttons... many times I just cant find the pads during a sharp turn

Not a bug per se, maybe it's just me but has anyone else noticed the sound of the E30 M3 has changed slightly? Its revs seem to 'hang' a bit during gear changes now and the limiter sound seems to be higher frequency like its  bouncing off it quicker than before?

The cursor stays on screen during play for me too and I don't understand why the custom championships don't allow me to choose stages or at the very least a country.

Do the pacenotes for Finland sound quieter for anyone else?  I have never had a problem on any other event but Finland I'm always straining to pick up what he said cause the engine drowns him out, needless to say it's caused me to crash a lot.  All my audio sliders are default and it's only Finland where I'm having this issue.

Yes, that seems to be the case.  I had adjusted my levels to suit Finland and found I couldn't hear much at all in Wales except the co-driver

I guess you are listening spanish notes... that are totally broken at this moment.

Is it just me or do the cars accelerate too quickly on higher speeds now when the old downforce is gone?

And shouln't E30 have a dogleg-patterned transmission? In replays shifter moves like a normal H-pattern.

thumbs up for the this mastepiece that will be the best rally game ever!

in the flying finland update (italian)  i notice that the copilot has a very  stupid bored voice, like he's  forced to do his job  :smiley: 

also the notes are not explained by codriver at  right time, you need to give it a eye

the italian voice on all other stages are very good. please  get  the finland stages the same  nice codriver voice like the other stages

Yes that´s right, but it should be consistent. If i drive a stage every corner with a 3 should be as fast as every other corner with a 3 and so on, that´s often not the case in Dirt. Sometimes there are 2 corners after each other, both called a 4 but the second one is much slower and more like a 2 or 3.

But what's most annoying about notes in Finland, is that they are out of synchro. On every other rally I use "early" preset, and in Finland it just falls apart. Sometimes it's good, and sometimes my co-driver tells me 3 corners ahead. So I switch to "normal" and then most of the time it's as "early" on other rallies, but then again sometimes he tends to tell things really late.

Subaru has a graphical glitch around the door.
UPDATE: It occurs on both sides.

This isn't the only thing
There's also texture problem in the lower front grill of the impreza 2001 as you can easily spot in the following .gif
It happens on fog/rain conditions (probably whenever there's a particle effect in front of it)

Hi, thanks for the idea but outside of Dirt the T300 works 100% perfectly.

It seems to be a menu problem in Dirt where it's not correctly switching the profile. I really though Codemasters would have replied by now.

Second thing is those little signs next to road that makes whole car slow down when they stick to front bumber.... It feels like those are made from concrete or other heavy stuff..

I also ran into this on Finland.  The signs significantly slow your ability to accelerate when you catch one like they weigh hundreds of pounds despite being little wooden signs.  On a related note: they also seem to stick to your car and can be ridiculously hard to get off, effectively costing you a handful of seconds.


On another front I found a sizable bug in the way a Rally Custom Championship calculates reward.  I ran a 1 event, 6 stage Master difficulty one and it said the Reward was 10% (makes sense, it's 10% of an entire 5 event, 12 stage Master Championship).  At the end of it I got first and only received 20,000 credits (10% of the usual Master's first place of 200,000, but a mere 2% of the total reward for a Master Championship) instead of the 100,000 credits that would be appropriate (10% like it says in the UI and would be logical since it's 1/10 the distance) given the total potential Reward for a full Master Championship is now 1,000,000 credits (200,000 x 5 events).  This prompted me to conduct a further test and do a 5 event, 1 stage Custom Master Championship since my assumption was it was related to event count (probably just multiplying the standard 200,000 for a win against the Reward multiplier without factoring in that the Reward multiplier scales with number of events too and having less than 5 events will make that Reward multiplier incorrect as a proportion of the total).  The Reward for this calculated beforehand should be 83,333 credits (16,666.7 per "event"/stage) which is 1/12 of a Master Championships' million credits and it is 1/12 the length.  After running the test, it went accordingly: I received 16,666 credits for first place each "event"/stage and received 83,330 credits total (excluding bonuses/repairs), four times as many as the 1 event, 6 stage Custom Championship despite it being one stage shorter.

tl;dr: Unless you run a 5 event Custom Rally Championship, the Reward value stated in the UI is incorrect and you are actually receiving less than it indicates because of a flaw in how the reward is calculated (calculating per event instead of per the total).  I only race Master so I don't know the values offhand to test other difficulties, but I'd imagine it's across the board and everyone doing less than 5 events in a Custom Rally Championship is being shorted credits.

Using keyboard in the game resets my button mappings for the wheel occasionally.

I sometimes go in game with keyboard only and save some setups, then exit game, next time I plug in the wheel and start the game, everything is back to default settings.

Yeah, that's an old bug. Happens to me if I start the game before turning on my controller.

Yeah I've kind of  broke my pedal sifters a long time ago :) I was still playing dirt3 at the time.

I can't play this game for the annoying  stuttering every 2-3 seconds and FPS drops 5-10 frame per second it also occurs in the main menu. When i unplug wheel (Logitech G25) stuttering stops instantly and this issue comes whit 0.8 update. Before that no proplem. FIX IT!!!!!!

Hello, I was very critical of the physical V2. After much testing, and change the configuration parameters, I can say that you are doing a great job, I understand that there are things to improve. I apologize if I was not tolerant at some point. I encourage you to continue along this path.

The co-driver in spanish now is worst than the other ..... look for a good co-driver please. Dani Cue for example. Or Moya, the real co-driver of Carlos Sainz. In Jyrkysjar in the begining of the track the co-driver don't say nothing and the symbols of the curves say 5 and is a corner.....i crash everytime...i know but when you are concentrate you forget it and arrive at 120Km/h and find the corner....crash.
Look for all notes in general and the co-driver please. Also when start the tracks in Finland the co-driver starts too late....you are driving and he is countdown. 
Would be great that with the mouse you can moove the revolutions diagram...like in assetto corsa and you have the possibility to put it in the midle.
I think the force feedback would be better in dry asphalt like Montecarlo (with ice is very good). In Greece i think is a very high level.
