Another patch, another show stopper bug introduced

Recommended Posts

Codemasters please explain your QA process to the community. The latest ps4 patch introduced what i believe to be one of the most critical bugs yet. You can no longer save custom setups which means you cannot even use the work around and turn parc ferme off and load your setup before the race. So now we cannot save setups which is fine in qualifying because it carries across but in the race it goes back to the default setup. Championship mode cannot be played until this is fixed

Hi @Jarrod63, I'm sorry you're having this problem. I have tried to reproduce the issue you're reporting in Championship Season but I can save a setup and then load it on the grid before a race. Please can you provide some more information like which mode you're in, which track you're on etc.

Hi @Lozzy
I am racing championship mode on ps4.
- legend ai
- parc ferme off
- all other assists off
- noticed it at both malaysia and china so far. Im only up to china now since the patch.

I do see the save setup when i first enter the practice session however as soon as i customize the setup and then go out on track and then come back into the garage the save setup option is gone.

Please let me know if that helps you reproduce the bug. Otherwise i can try it from scratch at the next round and document the exact steps.

Thank you for that extra information @jarrod63, I have reproduced the problem now. I'll get a bug logged and try to get it fixed as soon as possible.

You can work around this issue. Once you're back in the garage if you load your saved setup again the save option will re-appear so you can continue to edit your setup and save it. I know that's not ideal but at least it shouldn't ruin your race weekend.

If you don't answer, it speaks volumes.

Having looked at this further I think this is just the tooltip trying to be clever but just ending up being confusing. I take it you're not saving your setup initially, then when you come back in to the Car Settings screen the Save Car Setup tooltip isn't present because the game is assuming because there are no changes yet that there is nothing to save. As soon as you change any setting the tooltip will appear, so if you're happy with your setup just move any setting up one and down again and then you can save it.

It doesn't really. Software companies don't generally discuss internal development procedures with the public, customers or otherwise, for all sorts of reasons.

Or they don't have one (QA) to start with.
