MYTEAM - Season 2 no Sponsors, Teamnames, Engine Supplier Changes

A detailed description of the issue:

  • I am at the beginning of Season 2 of My Team and have the following problems:
    • I was not given the option to change/confirm my engine or primary sponsor between seasons.
    • At the beginning of Season 2 I have NO primary sponsor and NO ABILITY to add a primary sponsor.
    • My team name has disappeared and the team colours have reset to default.
    • Attempting to change some of the customisation options results in the game crashing.

This issue has already been raised by several others and on Reddit but has not been commented on. In addition, I am providing extra details on the in-game actions that led to this issue (which were absent in other mentions).

What troubleshooting have you tried? Please list everything you tried.

  • Closing and opening the game, restarting the console.
  • Attempting to edit some of the customisation options that had been reset.
  • Advancing the game time forward (up to and including the pre-season car reveal).
  • Deleting the game from the PS5, downloading and installing it again.

How do you make the problem happen? Please add a step-by-step guide here so we can replicate and get reported as quick as possible.

  • After the final race of Season 1, I did the following:
    1. Added a new secondary sponsor (as I reached Acclaim Level 15).
    2. Signed a new driver (Nico Rosberg).
    3. Advanced the game time forward to finish the season.
       
  • After the end of the season, I did the following (which might be related to the problem):
    1. I accidentally chose a 10 race season rather than a 20 race season. When I advanced forward, it seemed that I couldn't go back to change this, so I went to the home screen of the console, closed the game and reopened it.
    2. After opening the game again, I was presented with the season length option again. I chose a 20 race season, added Shanghai and removed Hungary.
    3. I was then given the choice to edit a few customisation choices but the game skipped past the primary sponsor and engine choice sections.
    4. The saved game is now in it's current state.

Hi Barry, @BarryBL

At this stage I'm unfortunately unable to attach the save game file. The PS5 is only compatible with USB extended storage that is at least 250GB and is SuperSpeed USB 5 Gbps. I don't own any external drive that meets these requirements and it's a lot of money to buy a new one just for this. @Kossovard and @vincenzo19 - how about you?

I tried outlining the procedure I went through between S1/S2 - as mentioned I went to the PS Home screen and closed the game when I made the wrong new season track selection choice. I may have done the same at the end of S1 when I clicked on "renegotiate" with my current 2nd driver (I don't recall). Not sure if this helps.

@BarryBLI'm wondering if you've been able to (or attempted to) reproduce this bug?

While I understand that a saved game file would assist, it's not so simple as "attaching the save game file" - only certain extended storage is compatible with PS5 and any storage also needs to be reformatted first - I don't have the ability to do this right now unless I buy a brand new external drive.

@KossovardYou're on PC - are you able to upload your saved game file? @BarryBL- can you give explicit instructions for uploading a PC save file?

After I completed the final race of my first season (Abu Dhabi) I went through the driver market period thinking that after I got all my money from my 2nd place finish in the constructors and my main goal being achieved thinking that I could sign a driver before Bahrain. When I realized I couldn't I Alt F4'd and opened the game to see that my team colors, team name, etc was all blank. I had a reserve driver with all 25 stats selected for my teammate. I also wasn't able to select a main goal for the season so I didn't have one. When I go to customize my livery, badge, or team colors back to what they were originally, my game just crashes. I am not able to change my team name, colors, or anything without my game crashing. So now I am currently stuck with this and I don't want to restart from the beginning. Please help!

A detail description of the issue... My team name is set as "-", my teammate is set as a driver with all 25 stats, I don't have a primary sponsor, and whenever I try to change my name, team colors, badges, etc back to what they were, my game crashes.

Report Code... BGRB-MSCC-GCCX-BAJE

Platform... PC

Game-mode... MyTeam

Troubleshooting attempts... I've restarted my game as well as my computer.

How I made the problem happen... When I finished my final race of the season I went through the driver market period thinking I could sign a driver after I received my primary sponsor goal and my cash for getting 2nd in the constructors. When I realize that I couldn't sign a driver after I got the money and after ending the first season I Alt F4'd to try to go back and sign a driver during the market period. Ive had the same thing happen to me after the first season 2 times. I think it has to do with closing the game down when doing the negotiations. In my first ever season i just went straight to signing a driver so didn't have the problem occur. But in the last 2 times I've constantly tried to sign particular drivers and noticed the error pop up.

@ayz1 As you're on PC, are you able to provide your save game file? We appear to have the exact same problem. In another thread, some instructions were given to do this, see below:

     PC:

·         Browse to where Steam is installed, usually this will be C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam

·         Browse to \userdata\xxxxxxxxx\ (where the x’s are your unique user ID)

·         Right click on the 1134570 folder (this is your F1 2021 save) and select Send To -> Compressed (zipped) folder

·         Make sure you add this to your completed bug report

@BarryBL @Hoo Any update on this?

It would be great to get some confirmation whether...

(1) the developers have been able to recreate the bug or not? (based on the steps people outlined above that seemed to cause the problem)

(2) whether it's likely or unlikely that the bug can be fixed? and whether this would allow the option of adding a primary sponsor to the current save file?

I realise it's only affected a small number of people, but it's a bug all the same, and sitting in limbo for nearly 6 weeks isn't enjoyable.

A simple confirmation would be highly appreciated so I can know whether to continue holding out, or give up until next year's game.

Although I have no means of submitting a saved game, I followed the bug report format in the correct manner and I have remained polite and professional in my posts. A simple response would be highly appreciated.

We have been unable to replicate at this time @zeduck I'm afraid, and, without a savegame file, we'll have no way to track through. @ayz1 and @Amelcfc haven't responded with a savegame either, so we are struggling at the moment.

Does it happen on all of your saves? Can you start a new one?

@BarryBL Thanks for the reply, that's unfortunate that the bug cannot be replicated. I reached out to @ayz1through private message last month but they have not read it. 

As you might imagine, after spending significant hours on Season 1 of My Team, starting a completely new save is not something that I, and I imagine most others, would want to do, especially with the uncertainty if it will happen again.

@Maxhyt You were one of the first people to report this problem on PC. Do you have any way to upload a save file?
