Is this the normal strategy for australia 100%

Recommended Posts

Started a career mode with nasr on legend ai and 100% race length and when the race strategy came up it said: Stop 1 on options lap 7-8 Stop 2 on options lap 22-23 Stop 3 on options lap 33-34 Theres no way that is correct anyone else having this issue im on ps4 btw and on latest patch

I've never seen anything like that. Is it possible you used up a lot of your tyres already? Possibly your Q2 quali tyres are worn and you have another set or two that you used up a lot too.

It could be i used my Q2 tyres alot since i was pushing alot in quali in the sauber but even so shouldnt the last stint be on the primes since lap 33-34 to lap 58 on the options is abit too much .
And i did not use primes on quali so i should have a set of them

Yes, I got the same thing. Worse thing though... Well... I guess it'd be easier to show it then explain it

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZN_mCwwHfE

This was supposed to be my last pit where I thought my crew were to fit me with PRIME tyres until the end of the race. Turns out they decided to play a "joke" on me and kept giving me the used OPTION tyres over and over again... I had to pit 3 times, the final time FORCING THEM to manually fit me with the PRIME tyres. Thanks to all that, I lost countless seconds pitting in thus robbing me of a podium finish.

Bug??? Glitch??? Anyone have any thoughts?? Also, I noticed this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W39RR37KDhM

So I always run Australia with 2-2 for the wings, which I did during the practice session. Go into qualifying and noticed right away my car was running very lose on the turns. Come back to the pits and check out my car settings and noticed the game changed my wings to 6-6 and I couldn't change it back because of parc ferme rules. That's a HUGE bug!!! Maybe that's why the other cars can blow by me on the straights and causes them to crash into me?

Wow must be a bug post patch then since this has never happened to me in australia or any other track before.
also i decided to carry on the race anyway and after my second pit stop jeff the engineer told me i still had 3 stops left  :| :|
Anyone have any answers why this is happening ?????

LOL!! Same!! After the last pit, my engineer told me I still had 3 more pit stops planned. It's only when I manually forced the change to PRIME tyres that he said I had 1 left.

Your projected strategy was probably something like Option 7 (very worn, tyres used to set time in Q2), Option 15 (not worn), Option 11 (also somewhat worn), Option  x (more worn than the 3rd stint's tyres), Prime y (possibly not shown if there wasn't enough room on the screen to show it)

Hmmm... That does seem possible. I saw the same thing just before my race started:

http://prntscr.com/8q68gh

Problem is, after I pitted in on LAP 29, the info box still told me I had to pit in on LAP 29. Same on LAP 30 and 31, it kept telling me to pit in on LAP 29. Also, 3 times they just put in the SAME used Option Tyres I had been riding with since lap 18.

I was talking about Jaydan's problem. I couldn't figure out what went wrong with you. Good picture though. So you were supposed to have 4 sets of options in the strategy but they never gave you a 4th set?

I'm trying to think of some strange logic that got screwed up before thinking it's a simple outright bug, but I can't yet.

I understand that maybe i wore out the tires in Q2 but even so why was i not given the primes and why after my last pit the engineer would say i have 3 pits left it just doesnt add up even if i had destroyed my tires in quali but i can see why maybe the problem started from there

You weren't given primes automatically at any point in the race?

So we know the projection was to stop for options on 7, 22, and 33 because that's all it can display. After that, I don't know what the plan was. One thing to keep in mind though is that the strategy changes based on:
1) How worn your current tyres are
Example: One's first stop could be scheduled for lap 16, but that number drops over time to 15, 14, 13, etc. if that person is wearing out his or her tyres faster than the game expected.
2) When you stop
Example: When you stop, the game calculates what it believes to be an optimal strategy, which may or may not be the same as the initial schedule depending on whether or not you stuck to that initial schedule.

Were you sticking to the initial schedule? Did your tyres wear out on lap 7 because of being already worn from qualifying? Did your second set make it to lap 22? If you didn't, I could see the game getting confused as to what to do when realizing you don't have enough Options to get to where it wanted you to get.

Nopp i wasnt given the primes and by my 3rd stop lap (33-35) the engineer said i had 3 stops left so i retired i should have carried on to see the outcome but i saw it impossible to even get a decent position
As for the schedule they told me to pit in lap 6 when the tires had just gotten yellow on the indicator i could have done about 5-6 laps more on them but they told me the pit window was closing so i pit anyway .
Maybe that confused the games strategy into thinking i wanted a 6 or 7 stop race LOL

The game predicts a lap to pit based on how worn your tyres are. Based on how worn they were, it wanted you to pit on 7. During that first stint, they continued to wear faster than the game expects, so that 7 dropped to 6. And yes, the game's usual maximum recommendation on a pit window is around yellow-orange, so players will often feel like they want to do more laps.
Maybe that confused the games strategy into thinking i wanted a 6 or 7 stop race LOL
I'm pretty sure further pit schedule decisions do not take into account what a player seemingly wants to do or how quickly a player has used up his or her tyres in the past. I think it just picks a schedule based on what it believes to be optimal (recommended maximum tyre stints determined pre-race) from that point moving forward.

I do think the game is bugging out because there is no sense in "3 stops left" in your race and in venom's race.

Nopp i wasnt given the primes and by my 3rd stop lap (33-35) ...
The initial plan didn't have you getting primes within your first three stops. Do you know what the pit window was following that third stop?

Exactly the plan didnt indicate pre race that i would be getting the primes on lap 33 -34.
it said options, i wanted primes at that  stage so i would atleast have a chance on finishing my race on the those prime tyres instead of going for another set of options say lap 45-46 tht would just ruin my whole race.
I dont see why they wouldnt let me change it before the race starts.
Like you said the game seems to be bugging after that 3rd pitstop

Well, if the game wasn't going to bug out in some way similar to venom's race, I think you were going to pick up primes around lap 44. It's weird that your engineer said you had 3 more stops after your 2nd stop, but aside from that, if you did pick up your 4th set of options on lap 33, everything seems to be going as planned. That's why I asked if you knew what the pit window was following that third stop.

Ye on lap 33 options went on which was my third stop and then the engineer said 'ok we have 3 stops left on this strategy '

Your racing F1.That is just a pit window. You don't have to refuel,so there is no certain lap you have to pit.If you pit out side that window. You will allways end up with a set of tires that you didn't get the full stint on before your next pit window opens

So its normal the engineer tells me i have 3 planned pits stops after 33 laps?
Its normal they tell me to pit in lap 6 even though i can get much more use of my current tyres.
I understand how the pit window works it just doesnt make any sense the info the engineer is giving it takes away the imersion of a f1 expierence
In F1 its crucial to have a good race strategy not a engineer that says you have 3 stops left with 25 laps to go

Yup, similar strategy was given to me, no choice of selecting anything else at the start of the race. The estimated time was also 518:00 minutes for race completion. Something is definatley going wrong with the game in this regard.
