F1 2021 Free to play weekend on Steam/Xbox/PS

Recommended Posts

Same thing madden 22 has done this weekend. Similar as they both on sale on the store v quickly after release. Clearly trying to push up the sales by giving people free trial but as both are rife with issues and complaints it may actually have the opposite effect. Ie make people think thankfully they didn't spend money on broken games ....

I am wondering if it will be good promotion.

Strange marketing move, what could it mean?

1) they want future customers to test the bugs just before patch 1.10.

2) patch 1.10 won't fix anything so let's go with the free trial anyway.

Makes removing the weekly event look even stupider.

You have one of the most fun and beginner friendly tracks to drive, for an event running alongside the real grand prix, and you lock it off on a FREE weekend because?

You are impossible to disagree with...

But “Trust the process” whatever that means

Indeed, trust the process was fine when it was hinting that there'd be something special coming for this weekend.

Even if it's revealed to be an Imola special event next week, that's not reason enough to completely can the Monza weekend. It's not good enough.

And to miss such a marketing opportunity and link one of the biggest races with a free weekend, you have to wonder what on earth is going on at CM. The 'process' is looking like nonsense.

Disagree, Turn1 Lap1 in Monza is maybe one of the most frustrating things 😄

Does CM even have a dedicated marketing and PR department... I feel it’s more a case they have a friend of a friend that used to work weekends on a market stall running it

Maybe the issue was that free access only at the weekend would have meant nobody using this could have qualified for the weekly event races?
