Someone noticed that the delta community times are insanely fast?

I'm not pretending to be the fastest around, but after someone does six stages under 14 minutes,I wonder where Ishould cut corners or go straight from start to finish!

I also worry, because there is nothing about this in this forum!?

Can you give an example of a car class and track (with settings) that are insanely fast? Most delta times I have seen have been insanely easy to beat.

If you mean insanely slow, yes I can agree. Keep in mind the "overall" time is kind of bugged and doesn't show the summary of all stages, but usually last two or three.

This is noticiable specially at weeklies and monthlies.
By the 5th/6th stage even if you have a pretty damn good rithm, you can get 20 minutes behind.

Dunno if the split times are bugged, or really there are a guy that is in 1st positition with such irrational time that mandatorily must be achieved with cheats help

Times are definitely bugged on the small leaderboard between stages, but on the actual leaderboards at http://www.dirtgame.com/events they're correct.

In my opinion, when you get to the quick end of the rankings, the leaders normally battling for tenths. To have top ten all in around the same seconds, but 1st & 2nd place 5 or 10 seconds quicker, it doesn't really hint at legitimacy, but hey, whatever!  Any things possible!  It's only a game!!  If you choose to cheat at a game, your life's pretty empty.... :(

There hasn't been any cheaters on the leaderboards for quite some time, luckily.

In the other hand there have been guys like you, that are so damm fast. But that's what's makes it fun. If we don't get to try to be at least as fast as guys like Porky, we will never evolve our driving style.

Ah, you meant the leaderboard times for weekly events. Yep, they're buggy as hell, but the placement on the leaderboards are correct (just check the standings at service area or overall standings for the event). I think it shows the time difference as (your total time) + (difference to leader) or some such nonsense.

Where computers are concerned, the possibility to manipulate the results exists.  That's the easy conclusion to draw from the outside looking in.  But it has to be understood that not everyone that plays Dirt are on an even playing field.  The variance in PC specs, monitors, controller/gear selection methods, in-game FFB refinement, even the view that folk use, all change or limit the possible fastest time to some degree for each & every player.

It's understandable that the daily leaderboards could be demoralising to many, but you should take more enjoyment in the challenge of finding your own limits, regardless of the global position.

Think how the WRC competitors feel the past while.  No one has the equipment to match VW.  (Sorry, that's a real bad example considering VWs rep for exploiting loopholes to cheat lol)

Join in a community league, they have a smaller entry and you have a better chance of being competitive

Yeah, I meant the leaderboard between stages.

It works fine, but at some point it gets corrupted and shows stupidly high gaps. But yeah, the overall info works fine.

The problem is that info con confuse players.

Because of the dodgy times showing at the interval standings,I thought I could never win,so I quit before finisching.I'm currently in a 12 stage custom event in Finland and after 6 stages I'm 25 minutes behind the delta time and it took them only 4 minutes to complete the 6 stages. After each stage I beat the delta and even got the achievements unlocking.I will run all stages and see what the end results are.

If you beat delta time on each stage, you'll beat it in overall. Just ignore the overall standings until you get to the end standings ;)

Thanks for all the reactions.I'm not finished with Finland, but I will let you know how it ended.

It is still weird that the times are not right and wondering if it can be corrected.

Happy to hear there are no cheaters and hopefully there will never be.

It's really frustrating to race as best you can (with a xbox 360 gamepad) and see these crazy times on the standings and you loose a part of the drive to continue.

I dont know if its cheating or just an anomily, but in your personal stats on the D:R homepage, we can compare our averages or maxes with the community.  My Max recorded speed has been 146mph, but the highest member's speed has been 205mph....??  WTF?

Yeah I noticed that one aswell. Is there a car that has the potential for 329 km/h in game? Some have the power for it, but is it possible with the gearing?

I assume the Hill Climb have that potential, would have to check though.

No way!!

Not even 205 PP can reach that speed at Pikes. I maxed this car to an incredibles 265km/h and then crashed out...
I think heres not a straight long enough to get 329 km/h. (I dont think any DR car can reach that speed running on surface anyway... maybe that data record was obtained during a huge and strange crash where the car flew away, maybe a glitch)

Maybe hillclimb but downhill?
I'm sure someone has tried everything to get the highest speed possible.

but over 200mph??  That's bound to be a cheat.  The longest straight on Pikes is on fairly level ground!

Yeah I've never been able to go faster than 265 kph on Pikes Peak, with maxed gear ratio on the 205... so it's definitely weird. Then again - the stats could be wrong, as the game thinks I've never gone quicker than 161 mph (259 kph) when I know for a fact that I've done at least 164 mph (265 kph).

Actually, it's near the peak. Going reverse it is a rather steep downhill. Gonna try the PP now to see the top speed. 405 always seemed like it has a lower top speed to me tbh.

Edit: Run the Quattro PP with longest gearing. 261km/h, so yep, someone equipped their Sierra RS Cosworth with NOS and went for a run in Kreuzungsring xD

I think there's something wrong with the Sierra anyway, other than obnoxiously long gearing, I'm finding the v2 version feels off.
I am, or was last night, easily hitting 140 in stock form in Germany with a fairly damaged car, it did not feel right at all.

It may be that top speed is being recorded still when someone has had a bit of an off, i.e. perhaps sailing off the edge off a cliff at Pikes Peak with gravity doing all the work.

Ok, just saying here on this one not pointing fingers. Prior to the latest update I had a smattering of #2 rankings in the 70's Rally Cars, so I guess I'm not completely useless, but I do see from time to time some rather unusual things. Just then was one, did Pawnt Mawr in an F2 Kit car, top 2-6 of us or so, times within a second or two. Our #1 is 20 secs faster than my time.
