Team Meeting - Dnote's Notes 22/10/15

Recommended Posts

Hi hobbsy, it's Lozzy here. Basically an 'Optimization patch' is a patch that optimises the performance of the game to make it run smoother. Thanks.

There is only so many ways I can say when there is something to tell you we will.

@Lozzy be more inventive. Get a thesaurus. There are loads of ways of telling us nothing, look at the politicians...

Has anyone got the Xbox dash update?Any difference with f1 on that? Because the difference in speeds just opening menus and flicking to friends, party settings etc is unreal. So fricking fast. Hopefully it will help the game out for those still persevering

its like kids , they think they do the best but they're completely wrong and don't understand why.
and if you try to put them in the right way they don't listen and continue to do the things worst than before :'(

It's almost laughable that @lozzy thinks it's acceptable to talk to customers that way! Sure I realise he is having to bare the brunt of all of our rants and frustrations but come on guys what ever happened to the customer is always right. No matter how frustrated and bored of going over the same topics you are you can't start being condescending to your consumers whose money keeps you in a job.

I'm doing my best to deal with things on here, if my comment upset you I'm sorry but the fact is there is no news to give you, when there is you'll know.

It's nothing personal. We are angry with Codemasters, not you.

A least can you answer me one simple question?

Is there any news when to fix this error? "The D3D Device has been removed! Reason 0x887A0006".

Thanks

Far too many drama llamas in here. Sure it's crap that it's taking so long to fix the game we paid for, but frigging hell, some of the dialogue in this thread belongs on Eastenders.

Thanks for the update, @Dnote

I guess you just must like getting screwed over and to what amounts to robbed of your money I payed full price for a game that just sits in its box so I'm properly pissed off and will vent my frustrations in any language I see fit be it eastenders, corrie or freakin emmerdale! It's people like you that are the reason codies churn out shit year after year coz they know they can get away with it coz there are those that will jump to their defence saying crap like "oh but they are doing their best" well sorry but no they ain't.

@speeddemon8021 if you care to tell us the reasons the game sits in the box then we can look in to them.

@lozzy

Hi mate, thanks for the dialogue. I am in a league at the moment and we suffer various issues with the penalties. Can you inform me what the sort of changes you are making to this, as I think you said changes were being looked into. Its the disqualification's that get peoples backs up. There seems to be a lack of consistency.

On another subject, for next year would it be possible to build in a system for wheel users where you press the pedals from zero to full in a configuration menu and the game picks up the pedal travel and aligns the braking and acceleration of the game to your pedal set. The reason I say this is that all my braking on the t300rs stock pedals is done within the first 40% of pedal travel. Its very hard to gauge my braking. I believe this is in other racing games.

@KevRusski the changes to the penalty system are to add a strict option to make corner cutting more likely to be penalised.

It sounds to me like you're seeing the issue where penalties and warnings are not shown to the player and you end up being disqualified without warning. If you look in the race director you'll see the incidents in there but that's obviously not ideal. We have a fix for the OSD issue coming too.

You should be able to change that using the advanced wheel options shouldn't you? Saturation would be the one to change I think (I don't have much experience with setting up wheels personally).

First of, thanks for the response.

Regarding the saturation etc it does not really help solve the core issue regarding depression of the foot pedal/pedal travel correlating to 1:1 feedback for the amount of pressure you put on the pedals.  Changing saturations skews the effect like if you changed it for the wheel itself to give you more turn in than you are actually rotating the wheel. If that makes sense.

I`m sure this is in some other racing games.

On the penalties, we had a race in Singapore last night and someone got a 10 second penalty for missing the corner (turn 18) and going into the run off area just before the left hander that goes under the bridge. Certainly not a corner cut. Its these sort of things, and like you say, sudden disqualifications.

No problem, it's what I'm here for :).

I've sent an email to the handling guys to see if they have any suggestions. Chase me in a day or two if you haven't had a reply but I'm usually reliable.

Getting penalties for running wide is something I've seen once or twice. I'll have a look in to that tomorrow.

This and being penalised for contact when it's really the other party at fault (AI). Not sure how this is calculated/determined?

@lozzy  just to know, the problem is solvable red light in the exit  pit lane, after the use of flashback? or at least have the green light in the pit lane during qualifying and free practice.

Hi, sorry I've not replied before. I'll log a bug but we won't look to patch that I don't think as it's not really affecting play in any way other than it looks wrong if you notice it.

Hi Lozzy,

Taking this opportunity to see you around to ask if you plan to add TrackIR support for F1 2015?

Do you expect to see support for the Fanatec Clubsport v3 pedals in this patch either? Been waiting months for it.

I have not played the game since 1.02 but did you guys work on the consistent of AI drivers? What I mean is, they are very fast at Melbourne e.g. but pretty slow at Sochi (Expert level). Did you have a look at that? It's a problem since forever.
Thanks
