DiRT Rally - Modern Masters Update

Recommended Posts

Its clear that Codies higher-ups need some help with resources allocation. They cant happily fill Bernie's pockets with tenths of millions of $s to have F1 license and dont give a tenth of that money to the DiRT to help the series advance.

Thank you for the excellent camera adjustment... When racing with triple screens this makes a huge difference!

Dirt Rally needs more lots more stages, I'm happy with the car count....

Ditto, exactly what i've pointed out on another thread...
Ah, didn't see it right away as the gossip thread blew up.

It would be nice if some of these FOV and camera/seat adjustments could affect dashcam as well. It feels like with each new set of cars, the view in dashcam gets more restricted. I remember at one point, you could see the opposite front corner of the bonnet on most cars. Some of the newer ones it's like you're lucky to see half the bonnet. The '07 Focus feels like it's 12ft wide.

Let me say this, maybe a patch but you will not get a new track or car. It is not how Codemasters works.
We might not get DiRT Rally DLC, unless a console version happens to massively increase the market, but I don't really know why you would say that it's "not how Codemasters works". You've been so heavily involved in modding DiRT3, a game which had both car and track DLC,
I can't fathom why you would think that.
It's something people complained about in Codies games.

DiRT 3 DLC packs:
Mud and Guts Car Pack (Lancia Stratos, Peugeot 205 T16 Evo 2, Citroën C4 Rallycross, Saturn Sky and Ford Mustang GT)
Power and Glory Car Pack (
BMW M3 Rally, Lancia Delta S4, Ford Focus ST Rallycross, Scion tC and Chevrolet Camaro SSX Concept)
Colin McRae Vision Charity Pack (Ford Escort Mk II)
Ken Block Special Pack (Heavily Modified Ken Block Ford Escort Mk II in Open Class)
Mini Gymkhana Special Pack (mid-engined Mini Cooper S Gymkhana)
Monteo Carlo Track Pack
X Games Asia Track Pack

Just a question, why there's no official liveries for Citroën C4 ? Like Sebastien Loeb liveres or others...?

Licensing. It's always the licensing.
Any of the cars in DiRT Rally with a blank #1 livery are ones where Codies are still trying to get a livery licensed.
For example, they are trying to get a version of the Martini Racing livery for the 2001 Ford Focus and the Ford Motorsport livery for the RS200, etc.
Previous updates added the Peugeot works livery to the 205 and this one added the Repsol livery to the Lancia Delta.

I love the way the group B cars now drive. Quattro has weight & the 205 feels like a light weight racing machine.

So pleased with the V2 handling on group B AWD.

Agree, hat off to the Codemasters development team!

The only thing I keep waiting is the free-camera.
Codie, your art team has done a TREMENDOUSLY AMAZING job.  Can we please at least change the camera freely so we can create or capture equally TREMENDOUSLY AMAZING angles that we see now and then.

Please. With Sugar on Top

Why Subaru R4 has a spoiler from the WRC? It looks strange. This spoiler was not homologated in r4.

So... how do we get the seat back to its default position? :#

Also, driving in the rain with the wipers off is awesome, really nice-looking rain effect on the windshield when the car's moving!

The camera adjustment feature was one of the most important things to me. It's nice not having to go in to the XML files to make adjustments... however, it's not all fixed.

There was zero change to the FOV setting. Why can't the in-game slider represent a real field of view angle instead of the random 0.0 to 1.0 setting it currently is. Appears this is still something I need to set via the XML files, and that's too bad. Please fix this before the final release.  And the FOV still doesn't feel right when I supposedly have it set correctly (based on info from http://www.projectimmersion.com/fov/howto.php?g=DR... I have to add his recommended extra 5 degrees, value of 10 to my calculated value).

I really like the in-car real-time seat adjustments. But I have two requests... I'd like the slider style camera options (as found in F1 2015), some times it's easier to see the numbers when making small adjustments. And I'd like a hot key (that I can map) to reset the camera (for that car) to it's default settings. One of the main settings that I require adjustment is the head angle, because my monitors are slightly below eye level... but it's very easy to over adjust this setting, and it's hard to get a true reference unless on a 100% flat section of track (with buildings, poles, guardrails to reference what is true vertical).

Happy to see this is going in the right direction... but a little more polish would be appreciated.

Citroën! Yay! Yay! Yay!
That's my car for this monthly event. I'm going to drive that thing to death - in every sense of the word.

Couldn't license the R4 version for some reason, so this RA class model is licensed but with R4 specs.

great update so far ! Thany you Codies . Im quite happy with the cars / handling and sounds although the C4 is not my personal taste (thx anyway to @meerkat80 for livery support though)
The 07 Focus WRC sounds awesome ! great job ... manual wipers/ lights and seat positioning are also a great addition to the sim, you guys really listen to us !!!!

To manifest the "modern masters car era"  into D:R ;  I would highly suggest:
pls try to get more 1.6 L WRC's into the game and of course introduce the R5 class.
We have an 1.6 Fiesta in the Sim, why not licensing an "older" Polo WRC from 2013 or 2014 season for D:R ?  should not cause any glitches with current WRC5 game.

So what about these future car relaeses:

-VW POLO "Rally" (2013 WRC)
-Hyundai I-xyz "Rally" (2013 I-20 WRC)
-Ruf 811 "GT class" (2014 Porsche 911 R-GT)  I know guys that would buy D:R only just because of this car
- new Class: R5 : Skoda Fabia "Rally" (Skoda Fabia R5)

I really do love this update. New Focus is just sick, I can't belive how fast is this car. C4 is not that much to my liking but I've never been a huge fun of Citroen. R4 Cars are cool too, maybe except the Mitsu sound whish is a little bit off. Nevertheless handling on both cars is great. But the best thing about 0.9 is V2 physics on group B and group A. My favourite Audi Quattro finally drives as it should. Splendind work here! Impreza 555 also feel way better than before.

i repeat it :  cars are to light, it's like driving an bmw isetta

group A cars was so good, especially subaru1995,   that was a true weight of a car and you was able to feel it un jumps and turns

with the new cars ALSO THE SAT IS  LESS STRONG because of their reduced weight.       sorry, but that's not the way it should be  s
