Recommended Posts

I am having all the above. We have talked about this on steam, i have made a post about this on reddit and now here. I have been in touch with Paul Coleman, the head dev at coddies and he said they will look into this. But some more info and reports should help them get a patch out sooner and we can start playing as the game is unplayable at this time.

PC SPECS

GPU- AMD 7870

CPU-i7 3770k

RAM-16GB

HDD- 2TB WD Black

Monitor-BenQ XL2411 @144hrz

Hmmm, both of you have AMD gpus, BenQ monitors and 16G of ram,....@ 144Hz?! Interesting,.... I run similar hardware, both my AMD gpus powered at 20% in xFire at stock clocks. I also use MSI Afterburner to disable ULPS per this guide: http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=393394&page=2

3473R is using a game pad, what are you using TrueCalamity? I use a G27. However, I don't have the 5 second stutter bug anymore since I recalibrated my G27 in patch .8. What OS version are you guys running? What usb devices are plugged in?

What I have found today is lowering in game refresh to 100Hz with vsync ON and BenQ motion blur ON smoothens the micro pauses in the benchmark demo!

I am using an Xbox gamepad. and i am using Win10 64bit and a USB 2.5 plug on my case. I am going to use the usb on my keyboard. I'm not getting micro stutter as much as i am getting this memory leak. i can live with stutter. 40-50 FPS going 100 mhp....not so well.

It's v sync! 60Hz to 120Hz with v sync ON and the demo is as smooth as butter with my G27. Probably because the game at this stage in development cannot produce > 144fps in all scene areas :( I tried several Finland runs and rallycross no more massive pauses in game and I have never had the fps drop off as you have. Did you follow the guide I posted setting up Afterburner? In ATI overdrive you can also raise the power to 20% and see if that stabilizes the fps.

I would try to stay away from "usb hubs" if you can like the one on your keyboard. A direct connection to your motherboard at the back is the best. I switched to an AZIO MGK1 keyboard just to get away from unnecessary usb drivers and hubs.

BTW,...thanks for fixing the controller save profiles, the error 41 crash to desktop. But, in custom events the garage menu showing our cars does not show all the number of cars we own anymore. The graphic areas are blank :(

That doesn't happen to me in Dirt Rally(graphic areas are blank).

About stutters...
I have tried the new physic, cars and i'm not getting any stutters.
Saying that, i didn't have any stutters to start with.

Only saying...
The more info from everyone the better.

Having the same problem but also with even less FPS. It's good the first 3-5 mins then it gradually starts to drop lower until the game crashes.

Things i've tried to make it better:
-Verified files
-Lower graphics options
-V-sync on/off
-Advanced blending on/off
-Restarting computer

I've also updated graphics card to newest version and Win 10 to newest version, no luck at all.

Pc specs:
Nvidia Geforce 780
16 GB DDR 3 RAM
Asus motherboard (don't know what model)
Intel Core I5 - 3550
Windows 10 64x
HDD 1 TB

Hello, regarding the stuttering issues,

If you are getting stuttering in v0.9 can  you please try disconnecting the mouse before running the game and keep it disconnected while running and see if it makes a difference.

Also please provide the following information so we can narrow it down:

System Spec
(Provide as much info about your rig as possible)

Steps to reproduce
(eg Game Mode > Stage > Car > Camera view > distance into stage)

Your recent history of races
(Mode, Vehicle, Track, Conditions)

Which stage were you within the championship\custom event?
(Stage name)

What were you doing specifically when the stuttering occurred?
(How and where did it happen?)

How long was your current session?
(how long had you been playing for roughly?)

Which graphics preset were you using?
(you can view this in game from the main menu)

Also please post your dxdiag to pastebin and link to it in your reply.

Thanks
There should now be a file of dxdiag uploaded.

The wierd thing i don't do anything ingame. I can sit in the menus and it still fps drops until it crashes.

Cheers,

Gomnes

Ok! I have stuttering. Some tiny ones - barely noticeable, and a huge ones - extremely noticeable freezes, with loss of control and somtimes - sound.
I have a G25 steering wheel. Mostly I drive 80's or 2000's cars through the longest stages in the game whith the behind the wheel cam. Graphics are pretty much on ultra, exept AA (2x EQAA), Vsync (OFF) & Advanced Blending (OFF). The stuttering is random. The huge ones shows themselves from zero (very rare) to four or five times during the long stage ride.
You asked to disable mouse. Ok, I've disconnected mouse as the game started to launch... and a keyboard along with it as they are on the same one wireless adapter. And the stuttering in the game had worsened. Especially the tiny ones - had become more aggressive, more noticeable and frequent. And I've connected an adapter back again during replay and all had returned to "normal".
My recent session was with Focus RS Rally 2007 and Tsiristra Thea (Greece) at daylight within an hour.
Here's my DxDiag.txt https://yadi.sk/i/1B7ZdzspkDURR
Hope this will help to finish that stuttering off.

I don't have any stutter either :) I feel bad for others though :) The blank area is NOT in the garage menu,....garage menu shows correctly.

OK. I'm old, so I have tried to post a dxdiag via pastbin but can't quite get to the final hurdle.
I use the Oculus Rift with .8 RT
These are my specs:
GTX980
Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 3
16 GB ddr3 Kingston ram
i7 4790k@4.6
Windows 8.1
I've had the same stuttering bug since 0.8.
Stuttering remains the same with 0.9.
Was fine before 0.8.
I have tried running without GF experience,no mouse and disconnected from internet.
I am using an Accuforce wheel.

Ok, my rig is:
i5 4200m
8gb RAM
GT 755m SLI
Windows 8.1
Logitech DFGT
The game is running on a 1080p monitor connected to my notebook.

I have the stuttering since 0.8, it already shows as I start the game with huge stutters every 5 seconds. I tried multiple solutions, the launch commands did not work, deleting the hardwaresettings did not work either, but when I unplugged my mouse and disabled the touchpad, the huge stutter reduced into a micro stutter, which was already sort of playable, then I turned the v-sync on, and the stutter completely disappeared.

@Cyvasse  - We have managed to make this happen on a PC we have access to, and we have fixed it on that PC at least. We need to confirm a few things then get it into testing, but we should be able to publish that before v1.0.

I experienced FPS and stutter problems even just after first restart in stage or if went to menus more than three times. It might even start going to menus even once. If i stay idle on main menus after couple minutes fps will start to drop.

now i got solid drop to happen on FPS even when benchmarking. First benchmark everything averga fps 59.71 min 58 max 61, second run avergae 54, third run average 50, fourth avg. 45fps... you get the idea, BUT when i took my WHEEL (DFGT) off, FPS went back to over 60fps again and stayed there. I will try to get my specs upped and dxdiag upped somwhere, how would be a good way (never done this before)

Any ideas?

What happened weekend stuttering is gone? I removed the mouse before I started to play on Friday and stuttering of decreased considerably, but not completely, yesterday I started to play again and I forgot to remove the mouse, but the stuttering had disappeared completely. Paranormal activity?  :D

After changing to 0.9, calibrating the wheel (csw v2), deleting Nvidia Exp., rebooting PC, .... finally (after 5 months !!!)  all was looking good.

After rebooting the next day WITHOUT CHANGING ANYTHING (!) the stutter and the strange behavior of the wheel/ffb was back!
How the **** is it possible?!

Of course I've tried afterwords ALL the mentioned hints/tipps AGAIN - but the problem still is there!
Only when I unplug the wheel (I have only USB 3.0) the stutter is gone. Nice: try to play a Rally Game without a wheel .......

I'm with "Dirt Rally" ever since it was released.  But after so many months (with still the same problems) I'm tired!
Sorry Devs, after such a long time with still the same result it looks like you don't get it.
Deleting of "third-party software, commond line here, offline there, unplug this and that ...." can't be the solution!

I'm out.

As odd as it sounds I'm wondering if it has anything to do with Steam? This random stuttering without changing anything points to something else.

Thx mate.
I will not do anything untill this mess is really fixed! I'm tired of "maybes", try this and that ... and empty promisses like "it's fixed in patch/update x.x"!
And of course I've tried already `offline/without Steam´. Guess what happened ....?!
Anyway-  it's not my job to find it out.

As an Early Access game it will have it's problems. People buy the game knowing this, most report the errors they find so they can be fixed. Codies/members make suggestions and the poster then tries the fix and reports back on it's success. If it doesn't work, Codies/members make another suggestion and the poster tries that. If it does work, poster replies back and Codies flag the success and implement it into the game.

If you're not prepared to even try and find the fix, why are you reporting the bug?

It is a really weird bug. For v0.8 I've tried a fix from CM - config file replacement - and after that stutters has gone. I thought that now all is right. Haven't played DR for about a week after that. Then came in again and stutters was there again. Really nothing has changed, only time passed. Tried to exchange the files again - no avail.

SkiddyMcCrash I guess you read only the part you like ...

- the usb-bug is well known as (at least) 6 months (!!)
If it would be the good old LFS-Team ... ok! But for CODEMASTERS it's a shame!!

As an reply to your last sentence again (also already mentioned many times ..):
- I have tried everything (!!!) what you can find here about 20 times, incl. new install of windows 7/windows 10! (still not enaugh?)
