There is new gameplay video of SLRE. Rallycross in Loheac. I cant seem to be able to embed video even if my life woudl depend on it  :(

But hey anyway new gameplay. Atleast it is added yesterday.
This one?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vsBlPfveVXc

That gameplay is from Gamescom Version in August
Ok my bad. I just checked it from the uploaders date.

To my eyes atleast graphics are not too bad. Hard to judge physics though

I uploaded that video in August for a forum where I collaborate (Elotrolado http://www.elotrolado.net/viewtopic.php?p=1739556306). In Milestone's FTP (http://milestone.it/news/press/?lang=en), there are more videos from Gamescom version

Why has all the footage they release have the most moronic, terrible drivers ever to showcase their game?  I mean like, people that have never played a racing game in their life.  Their PR team is god awful.
Crappy drivers can hide crappy physics through crappy driving, good drivers will immediately "break" the physics and find the fastest way to drive which will show what the physics actually are. Just mentioning a possible answer, not saying the physics are crappy.

And also, why is there no anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering visible in any of their videos and trailers?

Performance optimisation xD

They are probably capturing the footage from a PS4, and true MSAA remains a very rare sight on consoles for being such a big performance hit.
Note that it's always 30fps as well.

Chase cam with a wheel. It's like playing quake in 3rd person with a gamepad. Doesn't make any sense.
And yet, my brother swears by it. He argues that in interior or even hood view he can't see the back of the car or what it's doing. Then he cackles madly and throws a spoon against the window.

Looks alright

I actually hope this goes well for Milestone, we shouldn't be so adverse to it as a product!

WRC 5 has did untold damage to the genre as far as Rally game conquest customers go, and this could be seen to have a broader detrimental effect for the likes of Codies releasing DiRT Rally.
If  Milestone manage to crack SLRE even as a reasonably good sim-cade racer, it will broaden the appeal of rally gaming and can actually help DiRT.  Public interest & sales in Rally gaming as a whole is a good thing for the future development and re-investment.

How is being able to tell exactly what is happening with the car without any sense? Your statement is the one that doesn't make any sense as you're basically saying that it doesn't make sense to wear glasses to improve the sight.

Just to make it clear, chase camera can be really awkward to use for those that are not used to it. On top of that it also requires a tremendous amount of time to actually be able to use it effectively, compared to the amount of time you need for other cameras.

Just because you don't like it or simply can't use it doesn't mean it makes no sense. After all, from a logical standpoint, it makes more sense to see what's happening with the car rather than don't. Just saying.

I suppose if anybody was to oppose chase cam, then it would be for the fact that you don't get as much of a feel for the physics compared to when you're either in the car or on the bonnet.

Well, and I could argue that you get more feel, because again, you see the car. You feel physics mainly through the cars reactions to your input and FFB if you have a steering wheel, therefore seeing the car behaviour gives you more accurate feel of the physics.

Let me put it this way. When you're sitting in a car, you have the feedback coming through G-forces, vibrations of the car itself etc. In a bonnet or cockpit camera, you don't have those, only the camera reaction to your input. Chase camera even though it doesn't give those informations, it shows what is happening with the car visually. In short, it gives more feedback than any other camera in the game.

At the end, it comes down to personal preference. Some will like bonnet more, some cockpit more and some chase more. But saying that chase camera doesn't make any sense is pure ignorance and most likely hypocrisy as well.

I do agree that rubbishing people's preference is silly.

Regarding chase cam, I find that you get more of a visual feedback from chase cam, which is good for the reasons you have stated in your messages. But like you said, it's down to personal preference, because I find that I get more of a feel for car placement in-car than when using chase cam in any games, just because I prefer having less visual feedback for the whole car and just like to focus on hitting my apexes.

Having said that, I remember when the old Evo Studios WRC games on PS2 had a killer chase cam! It's probably the best chase cam I've ever used.

Its awkward to use and requires a tremendous amount of time to actually be able to use it, compared to the other camera's....

& if you dont like it or cant use it, it would be logical to stop using it, because continuing would actually make no sense maybe?

Soooooo, maybe choosing to play that way wouldn't seem to be the 'sensible' option maybe?
Kinda like what @function9 said?

(Just saying)

Did look a fair bit better than the previous showings. Might be worth giving it a go once it releases. Hopefully it's real good so milestone and codies decide to battle it out and developing superb rally followups to both games :-)

And if they do in the future, its win win for both us and them!  We'll buy from both if they are worth it!

I think we will try it anyway, but no one will challenge the KING of the rally Games, but if i tried the WRC 5 why not give a chance to milestone? If they can beat WRC5 they must be happy LOL
