And the pastas would be overcooked like hell
Goodness me, there is nothing worse than overcooked pasta in the world of food. It's like chewing shrapnel mixed with paste.

I hope it does, because if they were releasing games like this in the 80's and 90's then they would have never survived.

Usually my main argument would be that they wouldn't be able to patch their crappy games because of there being no internet and no such thing as the patches we see today...

But, then I thought to myself that Milestone don't even bother with patches more often than not!

So it seems like the only winners are the content licensees (sp?) but I don't know how they get paid, all up front, royalties, etc.  I hope they got paid upfront.

Imagine Dirt Rally with all the cars that SLRE managed to get, honestly I do like that Group S DLC pack, ofcourse it'll be difficult to compare them to their real life counterparts as they've never rallied, but still it'd be awesome to drive them as they've never appeared in games before (or not that I'm aware off)

I hope that Milestone will shut down and all the employees will quickly find new jobs... far away from the gaming industry.

I'm amused by how many people are blindly defending the game in YouTube comments, praising it's all-round realistic approach.

I'll praise the game for it's content, but I don't see how the overall quality can be defended by anybody keeping a straight face. Actual fans and followers of Milestone's work live in a mini North Korea, seemingly brainwashed and accepting that there's nothing better out there.

It's not all been blind praise, because I have seen more than enough people fairly criticise the game, but bugger me there are too many forgiving people.

If they were sold an oven of similar quality in its own criteria then I doubt they'd have a kitchen to cook in for much longer. At the very least their roast potatoes would be nothing but charred crumbs of sadness.

Probably, it is part of marketing what the fans are paid to promote laudatively a weakly nonfanatic rally developed game that seems almost like racing whereas Mario Kart is a more genuine racing game than this mockery. Money talks I would say for the praising act.

Assetto corsa , SLRE , WRC , RIDE , MOTO GP series , and the conclusion is :
Italians know how to make Pizza and Pasta but not video games! :p  :# ;)
What's the wrong with Assetto Corsa? The best simulator .
Greek people can do only strikes. LOL

Well, for a simulator it actually has quite decent graphics. What I don't like about Assetto Corsa is the fact that it's lacking quite a lot of features and it has some really embarrassing "shortcuts", for example it doesn't support two sided textures and the car lights aren't illuminating the road etc. I also think that they still have quite a bit of work left with the physics because generally the cars just feel too grippy. rFactor 2 is the best simulator in terms of physics in my opinion.

(Sorry for off-topic)

I'm actually quite interested in trying the game out as the verdicts are heaven or hell. Sadly I can't due to my separate Clubsport pedals. My Fanatec SQ shifter strangely works with a separate USB connection though?

Nice drive! Still the bad, unrealistc fantasy crash model after a jump by Milestone. I can't beleive they watch rally videos ever had.

I hadn't really noticed before, that the only sound is the co-driver and the engine, not sure i can hear anything else, it certainly makes no noise touching down.

How a Stratos should look on Gravel. SLRE is a bit like PCars. The steering doesn't feel right, only oversteer stupidly late.

Ok i will be honest with you! I have not any probem with italians , instead of it i like Italy and italians a lot..(not about gaming though)
First of all i eblieve that SLRE is not so bad game , its decent and the best Milestone racing game including Moto GP , Motocross , WRC series,it has good content (cars tracks etc) but is not even close to Dirt rally in terms of handling, graphics and physics...
Second in Assetto Corsa 2 of the senior devs are greeks you can check this if yous serch it.. Greek gaming companies are way back from italians offcorse making only indie games..
About AC now.. It has the worse menus and the worse chase view ever in racing game (u feel the car like to be SPACE VEHICLES OR SO) and what about the online that you can join during the race when some other players racing on the track and block them and destroy their race .. Do you need anything esle to say about?? :|

And yes greek people do strikes because they have f....cked us, but this coming to the other south contries too soon, so.... :(

It's a shame. I was hoping SLRE to be better at least in terms of performance. I find it gamebraking because of the input lag

Luckily I haven't had many problems with SLRE and my G27.  I don't get any input lag or some of the game breakers others have mentioned.  There are graphical drops in certain stages but all in all its been quite enjoyable.  Some of the car handling is questionable but I'd go as far as saying that the tarmac handling model is better than dirt rally.  Some of the stages in the game are quite amazing, particularly the Mexico and Australia stages.  That said, there is absolutely no gravel sounds at all which is quite a pathetic omission when it comes to sounds for rally games.  Its been repeated a thousand times over in this thread but the game sounds are genuinely terrible.  The co-driver in English is likely one of the blokes who used to deliver the old BBC Public Service Announcements.

Anyhow, I could cope with above, just about.  That was until I got online, which was a seperate task in itself...
  • If you want to pick a new car class to race in, you have to leave and create a new session.
  • If you slide off the road and up a mountain (this happens) and you get stuck, there is no reset button.  Spent the best part of 7 minutes waiting upside down for 'input lagging crash everywhere guy' to finish a 3 mile stage.
  • The amount of disconnects is beyond a joke.
  • If a stage doesn't load and you subsequently disconnect to rejoin, you lose a hell of a lot of online points when you rejoin multiplayer.
  • Loading times for stages can be very long.  Spent almost 5 minutes weaiting to join one yesterday.
  • The location and stage voting still counts down even when everyone has picked an option.
  • Solid outlines of ghost cars make it difiicult to drive when amongst the pack.
There's probably a ton of others that I've missed out but anyway, there the ones really griping me at the moment.

SLRE is far from a polished product, however, so was DR in its early days.  Some issues still remain in DR too, but I think we all know there's faith in Codies to push out patches for those known issues. From what I've read about Milestone, and based on personal experience with their Facebook page, those fixes won't be happening for SLRE.  I've not even had a reply as to why I cannot get online and that was 3 weeks ago.  Sad shame really, because with a bit of TLC, this game could have been really good.

Thank you for that feedback/experience.

The only thing i'd gripe over would be the condition of the game Vs DR in the early days.  Remember that DR was in Early access, this is in full release.

As funny as it may be, Batman Arkham Knight was the worst PC port since a very long time, but if you were one of those that actually could play (aka game didn't crash every few minutes) then it was a pretty decent game. With SLRE you don't have the crashing problem, mainly due to doing alt+f4 before the game has a chance to crash on its own :D

On a more serious note. The game is just not a quality product and it shows. Racing/Rally sims are popular right now, and with the sales they have, or rather don't have, it's more than obvious that only few blessed don't have issues. While Arkham Knight was a great game on consoles, SLRE is just a bad product with bad technical side which only makes things worse. Customer Support (or lack thereof) is a completely another thing.

I finally got around to playing it once I got my GTX 960 4GB a few weeks ago, and thoroughly enjoyed it!

I was able to run it prior to that, but I had the common stuttering issues, and my card was only 2GB so I had to comprise in visual quality. So I decided to wait until I could play it in a higher quality, and I am so glad I waited!

Batman :D

SLRE experience was also improved, visually, but sadly the GPU can't fix that inconsistent, sloppy gameplay!
