Well, I do keep telling people that I live in Americaville.

Yeah so that's sadly your problem... Those kind of things just wont happen here with our consumer protection laws.

It wouldn't be a problem if they did any amount of quality control. For them to actively acknowledge that USB cables are being put in without a ground, and not attempting to fix it after 3 years is insane. I've contacted Fanatec support for something small, and it took a while but still.

There is new demo on PC.

"....put yourself to the test on the dusty trails of Mexico, driving the Ford Escort RS Cosworth, the Toyota Celica ST185 GTFour, the Suzuki Swift S1600 and the Ford Fiesta RS WRC."

If you gonna try it pick Cosworth
:).

Someone made nice effort comparing SLRE and DiRT 208 T16. I have driven it lately just with pad in SLRE (it doesn't' support two devices at the same time so cant use my pedals since I switched to T300RS) but it's clear that something is very wrong in DiRTs car.

Yep, 208pp is so weird currently, I don't know why it was even included it in dr. It feels like a drifting car, and not the F1 type downforce/grip-fest like it should be. Huge wings, non-treaded racing slicks, clean good condition tarmac equals slidy slidersson? Nope. SLRE run looks good, proper lateral grip and leaning on the tires without  horrible sliding.

In the Facebook page of SL Rally EVO they released a video which says peace notes instead of PACE notes, that game could not be even near the king DiRT Rally

How old are you?  7 ?

Funny you chose 7 @Stevie777 (subliminal?)

But it's already known that Dirt Rally's tarmac physics are a bit weird since the V2 update, why are people acting so surprised?

But it's more than tarmac tire, aerodynamic things are off too.
And I'm not even surprised, just very disappointing.

As I have said many times, I can kinda deal with Monte/Germany, in my head they are useable, but Pike Peak is just wrong.  Totally wrong.

The cars don't grip.  Not even close, & yes, I know its pretty much run on a public road and 11 tenths isn't really possible in real life, but the grip should be fantastic in those cars unless really doing silly things, especially given the amount of Aero they have!  I don't expect F1 levels of grip, but C'mon!!!

I don't think SLRE feels "better", but at least its not the full drift-fest that DR has....

Well I'm more surprised they don't have the ability to tweak aero parameters per car basis. I can understand lower aero in rally cars to get more lively gravel handling (which in turn results iffy tarmac), but now we have a car that does not need any considerations for gravel handling and could be tuned for best possible tarmac handling.

Pointless having this in a game if it just behaves like a regular rally car and does not offer authentic experience. Unless it was added just for marketing gimmick.

Taking into consideration PP tarmac issues and huge jumps in Finland I dare to state that there is no aero simulation at the moment. It really is time to start working on next game engine :)

This is derailing bit from original topic, but take a look at V1.1 bug sticky and video where one guy drove off-road in 208 T16, it does indicate that there is indeed at least some aerodynamic modeling.

What we need to understand too, a normal saloon/hatchback car (rally car) generates very little downforce naturally anyway, but a PP car with many wings, should really benefit, especially at the high speeds that they average

Back on topic with SLRE. Tried out the new demo. For one thing, it is at least playable now. The performance isn't great, but a lot better than the first demo. Also now it supported my wheel (DFGT) with no problems.
As for driving, the first thing I noticed was that co-driver calls were kinda late. In the options they were at normal, so I changed them to early and then to very early, which was a  bit better but still not quite enough. I wonder do they call out the turns after you go through them, if you set it to very late? :D The handling is kinda numb, if your back steps out a bit too much, there's no cathing it, full opposite lock doesn't help, it almost feels like a spin-out animation.
And while I could tolerate the engine nosies, the explosion sounds every time you hit one of those blue posts on the side of the road ar just ridiculous.

Milestone's portrayal of Lånke kinda ruined the game for me, because it made me question if any of the stages in the game where accurate.

Well, I would say their grass is closer than DiRTs non existent, it's just that their stages don't have any ditches and variation in vegetation density.

That section after Kakaristo junction is really narrow, I wish dr would have kept it real. Whole Ouninpohja is too wide in general, but that last section especially.

That is one thing where DiRT Rally is still holding our hands little bit, and the ditches... I can't imagine how these PS4/XBox threads would be if stages were as narrow as they really are.
