Will there be a hotfix patch?

Recommended Posts

I really hope that i don't have to wait for Winter Wonderland patch to get the extremely bad FPS and stuttering issues solved.  Only reason to wait that amount of time would be because it's so broken.

I've already replied to a topic with this issue already. I just want to know.

It completely depends on Codies being able to replicate it. That needs to happen before they can find out why it's happening and can fix it.
I'm sure a fix will be made available ASAP, but whether or not that is before, or after, v1 is impossible to say at this point in time.
Sorry.

That's why i said "because it's so broken". But as far as i know they've never released a hotfix patch, only content patches with possible fixes in them.

Sometimes it feels like they're just holding on the patches far to long with possible fixes and it's really unesessary. Release it when they think it's ready and you'll know if it's better, worse, the same or fixed via the community.

They have released updates that were nothing but fixes with no new content.

New content comes in the big numbers. 0.4, 0.5, etc.

We've had a 0.61 and 0.71 which did nothing but address issues.
There's more. I believe 0.3 had two patches and 0.4 had at least one patch, but don't have the exact version numbers to hand.

And they still didn't release a hotfix patch for 0.8 stuttering problem. Now there's even more shit going on.

Yes i'm pissed and sound like cunt, but frankly, i don't really care. I haven't been able to play the last 2 patches because of the same problem, well same problem + another problem in the same patch. Yes i know it's EA and i should have patient, but i don't.

They haven't released a hotfix patch for that problem because they can't replicate it in the studio to fix it.
Though they did release a hotfix of sorts regarding the CPU threading issues with 0.8. It helped some people, didn't help others.
If 0.9 didn't fix it, what makes you think it could have been fixed earlier?

You asked if they had released 'hotfix' patches for DiRT Rally before.
The answer is yes. They have.
If they have a proper fix to a serious issue, they won't hold it back until the next major build. The game has had at least 5 'hotfixes' since appearing on Steam.
(one of my personal suggestions with stuttering/framerate issues is to check to see if a service called ExpressCache is present on your system. It's meant to use a small SSD as a cache, but when it starts shifting data around it can cause serious issues with games. I always end that service before playing).
