GRID Autosport Custom Liveries, Mods & Tools, Discussion etc

Recommended Posts

He guys and girls, this thread/discussion is all about customizations, either it is a car, track or whatever you wanne modify in the game.

I already released two new custom liveries which you can use in the game. I made both for GRID2 but as they are one of the most downloaded cars from my GRID2 section i also released them for GRID Autosport. More new custom liveries will arrive as soon as there is a PSSG pack/unpack tool released.

You can download my custom liveries here:

http://www.rallygamer.com/gridautosport/liveries/page1.html

For those who wanne use my liveries with the high settings simply rename the files from low to high and place them in the correct high folder.

The PSSG tool is available for download here (tool with manual is released on July 1st 2014):

http://www.rallygamer.com/gridautosport/tools/texture-design-tools.html

To give you a head start i already listed the full car names with their shortcut folder name so you know which car is in which folder when you decide to customize a car livery yourself, you can find the list here: http://www.rallygamer.com/gridautosport/tools/texture-design-tools.html

Here are some screenshot of the first 2 custom liveries in the game:

Hi guys
The skins look great! Well done.
I run a online sim racing league and I'm trying to get the drivers into GRID Autosport. If some good GT skins could be made ,it would go a long way in helping interest to grow for the Grid series. The sim guys usually look down on "Arcade" games, as you well know.
Keep up the good work

My yahoo email isn't working right now for some strange reason, but I'll quote myself from what I've told some members at RaceDepartment.

"Hey,

The pssg files are just using gzip compression so you can open them with 7zip, for example, and extract the file inside. Then it should open with the pssg editor.

I don't really have the time to be making updates to do this automatically, and considering CM hid the database.bin file again, it makes modding pretty useless in my eyes, and gives me even less motivation to make anymore updates."

You can get further help from RD members here if you need it: http://www.racedepartment.com/forums/grid-autosport-mods.355/

Thnks Ryder was waiting for youre pssg tool.    :D
 Edit:
OK manage to extract the dds files but atm it is a mistery to me how to build it up again?
Can I use the pssg tool from grid2 to make a pssg file again and then overwrite the original pssg (after backing that one up off course)
Or does then happen what Hoonhead descripes?

He Aussimodus, just figured it out. In short unpack with 7zip, rename with correct/added pssg extension. Next unpack the file with pssg tool. Also pack the file with pssg tool and simply copy the file to your game folder. there is no use to pack the file again with 7zip.

For a more extented manual see my website, there are also all the files in one download.

Hallo Hoonhead.
Can you please explain to my the reason of renaming the file after extraction with 7z?
Because I was able to use the pssg tool for grid2 after the extraction with 7z with no problem.
If it is because you dont see the file in pssg tool change from looking for  pssg file to all files.

But from what you descripe the only thing that basicly is changed with previous codies games is extracting it with 7z first right?

indeed basically what is changed is that you need to extract it first with 7zip. If i extract any pssg file with 7zip i always get a file name without an extension. To make it more PSSG tool friendly and because you gonna replace the original file i first rename the file without the extension from for example bom_tex_high_08 to bom_tex_high_08.pssg

Thanks Hoonhead.
I won't do it as you do because I delete the extracted file when I got the dds files extracted from it.
I will have the psd file if I want to make more then 1 skin for the same car so no need to keep that file.  :)
